Default Best Tires

I need to purchase a set of tires for the Roadster. All I hear is that high performance tires do not wear well. They will constantly need to be replaced. Is there such a thing as a high performance tire, that wears well, and doesn't require a second mortgage on my home for purchase. If so, what do you suggest?

There are some alternatives to the Michelins and Contis. Check Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels and Discount Tire, Custom Wheels, Truck & Car Rims | Discount Tire

Tire Rack has local people to mount and America's/Discount Tire sells both over the internet and has local stores.

I tried the Nitto Invo. Nice tire, odd tread, but rides smooth and VERY quiet with good performance at less than Michelin, but.......they wear out really fast!

I was checking the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 people seem real happy with it according to the reviews.

BTW nice car!

I purchased the Goodyear Eagle F1 Astmmetric from TirerRack. My neighborhood Goodyear shop installed them, no problem. Been very happy with them so far. Better ride and quieter than the Michelin PS2. They are on sale right now; $180 for the front and $249 for the rear. They also carry the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo.

I've been thinking about TOYOs when I need to replace. I keep hearing they are a great bang for the buck! However, I do not know anyone running them on a Crossfire.
Let us know how you make out.

You can pick up a pair of mich. pilot a/s tires with a 400 treadwear rating or a set of the a/s plus with a 500 treadwear rating and tire rack tested them against the regular pilot sports and found them to be roughly 99% of the performance with 2 or 3 times the wear.

I noticed a set on ebay in 285/30/19 brand new for $350 the other day. That is basically 1/2 price.

Tires tested:
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup DOT Legal Competition 225/45R17
Michelin Pilot Sport Max Performance All-Season P225/45R17
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Ultra High Performance All-Season P225/45R17
