Default New Rear Tyres

Hi all,

Looking at some new rear boots as I severley punctured my tyre yesterday.

I am considering 285 - 30 - 19 Yokohama Advan V103. Has anyone tried these?

Also, I will still be running the stock 225/40/18's on the front.

Will there be any problems running this front and rear combintation?

I have been searching around for the forums, with not much luck. So apologies in advance if this has already been answered.

Thanks,

Michael

There is no 'technical' reason why 285/30R19 won't work, but in my opinion, the 30's aspect ratio in back appear TOO low profile paired with the 40's up front. I was made to buy the 30's for the rear when Bridgestone was unable to produce Potenza 35's as indicated in their specs. The 30's in back and the 40's up front just look mismatched. The manner in which they fill out the wheel wells is noticeably dissimilar.

So in my opinion, either stick with 35rear/40front aspect ratios, or drop BOTH the front and back one notch to 30/35.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was more concerned with the look of the tyres. After reading almost every post I am going to stay with the stock sizes as I plan to lower the car in the near future. In Australia some shops have quoted me $950 per tyre for the PS2's. Thank god for the internet! I have managed to source them for $450 per tyre!
