Default do spacers add or subtract???

Just to clear up in my slightly aged brain... when you add spacers does it add or subtract from the offset??

i.e. 10mm spacers on front(35 offset)... is it now 25 or 45??

I have to have the 10mm in front from my C32 calipers... if I got new wheels, I would like to drop the spacers....

its 25mm. my question why do you need spacers for the c32 calipers? if you have 18" wheels with a oem offset that should be enough to clear. the c32 has a 30 something et on a 17" rim and it clears

The stock SRT wheels will NOT clear the C32 calipers....I did try... this is with the C32 rotors of course...

I think that going from 330 to 345mm rotors lifts the calipers up higher and thus the interference.... Yes, I know it is the caliper mounts that puts them higher, not the rotor..

I went with a 30 offset on an 18x9 front rim. The stoptech's don't fit with the stock rims. 355mm rotor.

oem et on a c32 is 37. they also use a 17" rim if you have a 35 et and a 18 " rim it should fit.

your .5 taller and 2mm farther out then c32 oem

The interference is with the spokes and corners of the calipers with the stoptech's. Not the drum of the wheel. Jane did a little filing on the corners and got them to fit with the stock rims.

interesting les. the 2005 slk55 has an et of 37 and 18" and they run a 360mm rotor. its these small things that make wheel purchases so hard!!

What you really need to look for is the "X factor" on new wheels. When you have a big brake kit but cant afford to have a larger offset, or spacer, you look for a wheel with a high Xfactor. I have the CLK63 caliper and rotors with factory spec front rim. 18x 7.5 et35. the xfactor is the outside shape of the wheel or "face" of the rim. think of a half of basket ball. most wheel/tire shops can help with this. for example the stern st5 rims have a split 5 spoke design, if you notice the spokes roll out and back in to give more of a lip and also allowing clearance for larger calipers.
