Torn bushings
Here's a picture of my A-arm bushings that I replaced last week. I'm starting to think about getting something better. You can buy a spare pair of A-arms with the bushings installed for around double the price of just the bushings. It might not be a bad idea to have a spare pair to fit with spherical bearings.

I could always get the Kmac bushings but the race shop kinda said they're not much better than stock and a lot more expensive. They recommended going to spherical bearings or staying stock. If I step up to Hoosiers next year I won't have much choice. But put the link anyway. Someone may find this in a search 5 years from now.

No strange sounds just a little extra movement. It was my wide Forgestar's with wider tires that pushed them to failure! I don't think daily drivers will ever see this kind of damage, at least not until the rubber hardens from age. Remember the hanging chads?

Les- if you want cheap poly ones, let me know the measurements of the stock bushing (OD's, ID's, lengths). I can rummage through the shelves of poly bushings we have at the speed shop where I work and find the closest ones. They can be cut on a lathe to make them the perfect size
.
I'm not much at measuring. I have to do it 20 times and take the average to be close. If your serious about searching for workable stock I'll send the you the old bushings from one of the A-arms. I don't know if it's worth it or not. What do you think?

That is funny... when it shows up on my screen an add pops up and cover the bottom of the chart where the R170 is.... thanks..
Ugh This is a common problem with W202's. The W208 uses a solid bushing which is less likely to tear, I thought the R170 used it also. The common symptoms are a slight clunk, or intense front tire squeal turning tight corners. It does not take a lot of tearing in these bushings to create problems.
I bet you could use the LPD W202 urethane bushings. I can do a quick measurement as I have not installed mine yet. You may need two new LCA bolts to install them.

Hard to tell from Velocia's photo, but the bushings seem to have the same part numbers. Part number from the W202 bushing is 202 333 64 14.
Some info for the ADUS 597 Bushings.

First photos of my torn bushing. This has been bad for a long time.

Out of a replacement LCA!

This shows how these do not last. However the LCA is a 170 part, which leads me to believe they will work in a 170 / Crossfire.

I just got out all my magnifying implements and what is printed on the bushing is indeed #202 333 64 14.
I replaced them with #170 330 00 75.
