a lil teaser for ya!!
i started my big brake upgrade today. caliper is a 2005 340mm 6 piston and the rotors are 340mm 2 piece lightweight rotors from racing brake. they weigh in at 17 lbs!!!!
so you have to trim the dust shield and thats it!! bolts right on.
thanx to jimmyskullz, lantanatx for all the legwork, the fotos , the ebay auctions that allowed me to run this setup. btw if you stay with the 340mm you can run 17" rims!! the bigger 360mm rotors req. at least an 18" rim. the rotors arent cheap but almost half the cost of the oem rotors for the slk55 and lighter. WINNING! as i finish everything up ill post more pics

Looks great Steve! These aren't the RB rotors that Eurocharged is producing now are they? I thought those were only for the 63s

they will also be building a matching 2 piece rotor for the rears but lead time is 8 to 10 weeks and i just bought a set of oem slk55 rotors for the rear so ill use them.
yes the dust shields are on the backside of the rotor. less than a 3" wide piece was cut off to allow the huge caliper to sit on the mounts. took less than 5 minutes to zip it off with a cutoff tool

Sounds like I need to drive down there and let you install them on my SRT. haha.
If you could post part numbers, and suppliers for the calipers and rotors, that would be great.
Something like this would finish off your install:

They are available from Azevedo Motorsports online.
Yes, those nuts are incorrect. FedEx has happily spent the last week moving the correct nuts around upper state NY for an extended visit. They should be here Friday.

Steve, the setup looks AMAZING.
Do not shoot me, I am merely playing devil's advocate here, but why a setup this hardcore? Do you intend on autoXing or other activities extremely hard on the brakes? I only ask because I thought you were more of a straightline guy and it looks like lots of green tied up in this setup. Maybe its the weight reduction or something I am simply not thinking about. Maybe it is simply because they are the coolest thing in brakes I have seen in a while

They will look really cool though.
