Cost to replace split bushes on lower control arm?

Hi all,

Need some pricing advice.

Just had the SRT in for service and they informed me to replace the bushes on the lower control arm as they were split.

They want to charge me $1295!!

Am I being taken for a ride here?

It cost me $700 to install my new control arm bushings, springs, shocks, corner balance and alignment. Of course it wasn't at the dealer. I used a performance and alignment shop.

It is a dealer... of course you are....

If it is the rear control arm it is easier than front... you just need the bushings, a spring compressor and some patience.... or find a good wheel shop like Les did.....

Lower adjustable control arm bushings installed on front of my car + lower ball joints and steering damper ,labor 361.00 INCLUDING ALLIGNMENT

DO NOT PAY 1200.00 BUY BUSHINGS AND TAKE TO A GOOD SHOP

I have brand new left side front lower control ,,,, $100.00 + shipping,, sorry do not have a right side. jim

Thank you for all the replies. Having access to this forum has saved me countless $$$$$$.

I have already obtained an alternative quotation and they want $550 including alignment which I thought was around the mark.

In Australia its hard to find someone who can be trusted to work on these cars. Most places I have spoken to have never worked on or seen one!

My car only has 23k miles.

Fingers crossed the suspension shop I bring it to does the right thing!!!

i had no idea this would cost me so much and I can't even find who to buy the the bushings for the lower control arm. everyone wants to sell me the entire cntrl arm.

I have a brand new left side only for 100. + shipping. if you or anyone want it ,,in fact i have two left sides bought one they sent me two still my cost was over 300. for the two of them i am selling them for 100 + shipping each jim
