Default Violent Steering Vibration

Hello all, Ive recently installed new wheels and tires and now have a violent steering wheel vibration/ shake. The wheels are Touren TR6 18x8 on front and 19x9.5 on the rear (Thanks to BillF for the idea). I paired them with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 235/40R18 up front, 285/35R19 in the rear. The wheels were balanced on a certified machine and mounted then taken for an alignment. During a test drive the steering wheel vibrates/ shakes violently, it increases in intensity the faster I go. I went today and had the wheels/tires road force balanced, that also did not solve the issue. I am a GA Certified Law Enforcement Officer and have never been as frightened in a car as I have this one right now. So now Im irritated and have exhausted all my ideas. Any assistance would greatly be appreciated.

Hub Centric wheel spacers or rings on these?
I don't think I've seen many wheels with the correct center bore for our cars.

The same thing happened to me. One of the rear wheels was out of balance after the install. I took it back to Discount Tires. The balancing machine they were using had to be re-calibrated. They found the right rear tire was out of balance and it was corrected. How about some pictures. Also, no spacers required.

I had a chevy van with the factory tires on it. It would shake and vibrate in front, took to chevy dealer found nothing wrong, return several times same problem. Was driving steering started shaking, had no steering now, rolled off to side of road and up into someones front yard. Found that steering gear box had ripped from frame. Chevy dealer found that front tire are tires had a slipped belt, defective tires. Tires would shake violently left to right .

Were they ordered in the OEM configuration? Center bore and offset?

Had the same problem with some TSW wheels on my SRT6. No amount of balancing helped until I got the proper size hubcentric spacers. You need spacers to fill the gap between the bore on your new wheels and the hub of the Crossfire. I believe the Crossfire hub od is 66.56mm. You'll have to get someone to measure the diameter on your new wheels. Where you bought them should know.

What is "40 bm"?

What is the center bore?

What is the offset?

If google is correct these are a 72 mm bore, the crossfire is a 66.6 i believe, you will need to get hub centric rings, they make up for the difference in hub of the car and rims, i wouldnt drive on them untill you get these

Yeah, well, you are pretty old. And from Alabama.

Bless your heart!

And that's why I asked about the bore-twice.

Don't know

and don't know

This info came from my receipt. I did get two plastic hub rings for the front. No spacers needed. It all fits and have driven the car on the track at the Texas Motor Speedway with no problems.

OK, Bill. Those hub-centric rings are probably missing from the OP's setup. His bore is most likely 73.1 mm and needs to be reduced to 66.1 (?) mm. A set costs ~ $20-$40.

Thanks, bub.

Start here:

And find out what the bore of the new wheels are.

There was no additional charge for the two rings when Discount Tire did the install.

So the hub measurement on the front wheels is 72.62 and the rears are 74.1. Offset is 40 on all. What would be the next step in ordering the hub rings? I'm assuming given the difference between the front and rears that I will have to order a separate set for each.

40 on the rear? it's to be 22 stock. Do they looked tucked in? Could you take some photos?
