Default SS brake lines: Goodridge or Stop Tech?

I've found them both for about the same price. Which do you think is better? Does one have better fittings than the other?

I've got Stoptech lines on the front, Goodridge on the rear and both are highest quality. You can base your pick based on personal preference.

I hope you don't mind me posting this here, but what do you guys think of these?

MAGNUM Brakes - Performance Parts

"A large percentage of your brake pedal travel is due to expansion of the hydraulic hoses under pressure and high operating temperature. Replacing the rubber flex hoses with our stainless steel reinforced Teflon hoses eliminates this expansion and helps dissipate heat generated by braking, thus giving you a firm positive feel of your braking system. Magnum Stainless Steel Brake lines are fully covered with PVC thus give it extra protection against deterioration by environmental elements, not every brand on the market gives you this extra protection. All Magnum Stainless Steel Brake lines are tested to a pressure of 4500psi. All the hangers and holders came with our kits are made of anodized aluminum to resist corrosion. Magnum Stainless Steel Brake Lines Kit covers most of the better imports applications. All Magnum Stainless Steel brake lines kits come with a limited warranty of 2 years against defects; please contact your local dealer for details."

Well here I go. In my opinion, for what it's worth, the stock lines are very good and I didn't feel any difference after changing to stainless lines. However, because of the high level of danger in what I do it was necessary to use them. Rocks have caused breaks in non stainless lines on track cars and I've personally seen serious accidents from brake failure. One time it was installation error but the result was a totaled car. From what I've seen the difference in low and high quality stainless lines is where the lines meet the end fittings. That's where the cheapos fail. This is the first I've heard of Magum brakes.

Goodridge are guaranteed for life. I don't know about the Stoptechs. But even with a guarantee all thats replaced is the brake line, not the car that got destroyed in the failure. Canadian ...... good Chinese? J/K. I like Canada, I just don't know anything about this company or their products. Let us know what you think Grip.

The car stops so fast I can feel my filings being ripped from my teeth, but what amount of that is the lines - probably not much. They appeared to be nice quality lines and went on easily the first try without leaking. The pedal is firm as hell, so I give them a thumbs up. I also like the fact that they are covered.

If your even in P.R. I'll give you a Stoptech/Carbotech revelation and you'll wish your eyeballs had passive restraints. Yeah, the lines didn't seem to make much difference but they are more resistant to damage from rubbing or projectiles. It's hard for us laymen to know if one is better than the other.

That's just weird. Most ladies don't like men to slam on the brakes .... in my experience.

I just ordered these based on Grip Grip's recommendation.

lmao. Just replace the stock hose lines. Just don't forget to change fluid to a higher boiling point fluid or you won't see much benefit. And certainly a better pad like ceramic. Some of you guy's calipers are so big most women would blush.

I have more stopping power than tire grip on the street. Most of that is from pad selection. When I have my track rubber on and the tires are up to temp..... all I can say is you can't imagine it, you have to experience it. So when a forum member comes to P.R. for vacation just let me know and we'll head to the track for some fun and games. The huge calipers are for heat management more than stopping power or clamping force. The bigger the heat sink the longer you can brake aggressively. The huge calipers and rotors are super sexy.

So far what I'm planning is drilled/slotted rotors, the CL500 brembo 4 pistons in front, SS lines, Superblue fluid, and disc italia kevlar titanium pads all around. I've been doing a lot of reading (love this forum ) and it seems like this would be a winning combination.

I too have these on my car for over a year now. Mine shipped from Scarborough, Ontario but according to their Ebay listing, they also have a US warehouse. From what I recall, they only were listing lines for the SRT6. However, in my case, it suited me to have the extra length since I have brembo calipers on all 4 corners

I would only go with StopTechs or Goodridge lines. Both companies test each and every line at over 4000PSI before it's boxed up and shipped out. I prefer the StopTechs to the Goodridge only because they are coated so less risk of the stainless braid chewing up something it shouldn't. I'd personally stay away from the Magnum lines as they have a track record for failing after a few years. Bimmer and Audi guys had these headaches a few years ago and while the manufacturer sent out replacements, those eventually failed as well, just not as quickly.

Stainless Steel Brake Lines for 05 06 Crossfire SRT 6 | eBay

And according to their literature, each line is tested to 4,500psi.

G-Force used to say the same thing but the fact is if they're gonna leak from use at 1400PSI which is what our braking system working pressure is supposed to max out at, then they should never look like this.

(the blue stuff is brake fluid between the stainless line and the outer couting)

I'm not gonna get in a pissing match about brake lines but this isn't a hollow warning either. I wouldn't eat a guard rail, ditch, curb, wall or other car because I saved $10 on my brake lines and in the grand scheme of things, if you don't want to spend the money for a good set of stainless lines from StopTech or Goodridge, you'd be better served by the factory lines than some garbage ones that will fail on you when you need them the most.
