Any issues with TPMS when putting on new tires?
This will be my first set of new tires on my Xfire. I expect I should go ahead and do the TPMS rebuild on each stem. Any issues or things I should be aware of when having the shop but the new tires on? What about battery change outs? Should that be done? I'd rather not if that's going to require some trick to deal with the dash light.
Please advise if anyone has any thoughts?
BTW - I'm planning on putting on Michelin Super Sports. I've had good luck with my PS2s and teh PSS's are a little cheaper (still expensive) and get better reviews. I'd love to go cheaper but my last set of Michelins have been on 10 years so I think I'll pony up the xtra cash for them.

Just keep every TPMS in the same rim and you will be fine. I'm on my fourth set of tires and even swapped rims from car to car once - cost me $50 per car to have the dealer re-program so the cars recognized the new modules. Never had any problem.
Thanks. I was hoping that would be the case.
Thanks. I think the shop I'm going to is a pretty good shop. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
I just installed a new set of the Michelin Super Sports. I noticed a little softer ride with the new tires. One cautionary point, my tire store manager told me, the tires have a film added at the factory for shipping and storage and it gives them a slick coating. It takes about 50 miles to wear off, so take it easy, otherwise you may go sideways if you give it the gas from a dead stop.
Enjoy the new tires....

Well, it would appear that the sensors can go back on the car in any position, I kept mine in the same positions as a precaution though.
I used Sparkies rear wheels on my car once and they did not even turn the TPMS light on, just as well as it was a safety inspection.

DTMenace --- Thanks for the heads up. How do you like the tires? You indicated a little softer ride. Is that in terms of comfort or in terms of affecting performance? I really like my PS2's in terms of handling and I don't want to sacrafice handling for a softer ride. Not sure what tires you had on before but any additional input is welcomed.
It appeared to be softer when taking any type of road bumps, seams, etc. I also had the PS2's as original equipment. I don't have enough break in miles at this time to push the limits of the new tires, comparing them to the PS2's.
The PS2's had 7/32's left in tread, when I had them taken off. They are for sale at this time.

You can put them in the trunk if you want.. PVC "pipe bomb"..drill and add a valve stem.. inflate to 34 LBS. Won't help with a flat but no low tire warning..
Use words like that and a SWAT team will appear from nowhere and cart you off to parts unknown. They must have a file on you by now.
Just giving the NSA something to do today.. LOL
