Default Eibach Pro Kit qun...

Hi Guys...looks like I'm gonna close a killer deal on a Blaze Red/Slate 6 spd...so I'm looking to start some mods...stance especially.

Are the Eibach Pro kits for the SLK 320 and the Crossfire the same springs? Here in OZ the Pro Kit springs for the Crossfire are difficult to get...so, I'm wonderin if the MB kit is the same?

Anyone know for sure?

Thanx...

They are the same. I have the Eibach springs for the SLK320 installed on my car.

The pro kit specifies 1.2"...dunno if thats gonna be enough?

Here is what it looks like lowered. Plenty low if you ask me:

The part number is 2552.140.

Thanx for the pix dude...but its really hard to see whether there is any fender gap present on your ride. I'm use to having my cars slammed...I figure .5" more than what you have should be OK.

BTW...they want $630 clams AUD here for the Eibach MB springs...pricey. I think I'll look up a couple of companies here that make great custom springs. I'll get the stance I'm after and cheaper to boot...

Will post pix when done ...thanx for the tips.

here is my white crossfire...a tad easier to see the gap change over stock...i would say it lowered my crossfire about 2.5 inches. the eibach specs seems to be conservative imo.

i would purchase them from the "tirerack.com" for $281. i added koni shocks to mine as well.

Adding the kit, what does it do to the ride?

If you just add the springs, it just tightens the suspension slightly and lowers the car... If you replace your OEM shocks with Koni Sport Dampers, it turns the soft rollie pollie suspension into a true, tight sportscar ride...

Meaning if your kidneys are not important to you!

Does the Traction control have to be off because of your tight suspension HDDP?

Not for regular driving... But on the track I routinely turn it off after my first experience with the car in that driving environment... It almost made me crash during a high speed power slide turn and tried to correct the percieved problem by sending me straight toward a wall... SASKINS had a similar experience with me a few weeks ago when he forgot to turn it off before the race, as I recommended

Quick update...i got the same Eibach SLK 320 springs and fitted them today at a friends workshop. he was nice enough to let me use his hoist/shop.

Job wasnt too hard...but when I first got the car on the ground it was sitting a bit lower but not ny much. After driving around for an hour and udung the speed bumps to help them settle in, the car has come down nicely.

I expect the next week or two will probably drop the car bu another quarter inch or so once the springs settle in - and should look like Andrew's ride. KILLER !!

No to find the time to fab up my Magnaflow exhaust...have the muffler, ive gone with 2.5" inlet...2 x 2.5" outlets. So Ill fab it up with mandrel bends and use a resonator to knock down a few dB's and provide a little back pressure.

Widh me luck.

If you want your car to be lowered even more, make sure you use the thinnest spring pads. In Mercedes, there are multiple different spring pads.

Right on Bro, HDDP just did that exact thing with the MagnaFlow. Man does it sound bitchen. I think You'll be pretty impressed by it. I know it impressed me enough to do it myself tomorrow.
Oh watch your new springs closely. I haven't touched my suspension yet, and even at stock hight, my tires rubb when I back out of my driveway

Thanx Saskins,

BTW...where are the thinner spring pads MB uses available commercially? If so, where do you get them from?
