Default Wheel Bearing replacment Question

So last week I went to get new front tires and an alignment and the technician told me that they couldn't align the car because the wheel bearings were so worn. They wanted to charge me $400 for parts and labor to fix and do the alignment. I have access to a hobby shop on base so I can use a lift and tools for $5/hr and there's a guy in my shop who has replaced wheel bearings once before.

I need help figuring out the parts that are required. I want to replace the inner and outer bearings on both sides. Can someone provide a listing of the parts I will need from Rockauto or Autozone?

thanks guys.

Just get 2 front inner and 2 front outer bearings from RockAuto for a 2003 MB SLK320.

About $25 total.

The inner bearings and outer races have to be pressed out/in I believe.

Where are you stationed now that you have returned from exile ?

I'm planning to this this job on my coupe as well and just bought the parts. You will also need to get synthetic grease to pack the bearings, and the rear bearing/hub seals. The seals cost around $6 to $8.

Because of an injury my wheel bearing replacement project will be delayed a little while.

Thanks, I found the kits on Rockauto under the SLK that have all the parts for one side, seals included.

I'm back in Wichita KS, I'm hoping to make the tail of the dragon in April since I want to see my family for Easter, maybe this will work out.
