TPMS relearn cost - $87?
Getting into this discussion late, hopefully some of you are still around not so much as to cost but just general screw up on my part comments and/or suggestions would be appreciated about a year ago, after one sensor went bad in my wife's 2005 Limited roadster with appx 101,000 mi I bit the bullet and had all four changed out for appx $532 at local dealer far as I know everything OK as never had trouble light occur fast forward to about six weeks ago in preparation for the Dragon Tail and with about 19,000 mi on her set of tires smart me decided to (in place of buying her 4 new tires) swap tires from my 2005 SRT roadster with 5100 mi which I figured the tires would dry rot by the time I sold it she had like many others changed over to SRT rims on her Limited
So had a local tire dealer switch the eight tires for $40 real smart huh ? now I have wife's car with tires and sensors ten years old and 5100 miles worn great until last week TMS light comes on in error (all tires have correct pressure) and I figure alright its time again to replace since they are ten years gone except this time I go to Sam's Club (Wal-Mart) to replace and program 4 new sensors for $176 total they assured me they could do it, even though I questioned them several times relating problems learned from the forum today they installed the third set of sensors (which used a different frequency) and the trouble light is still on the first set was supposedly OEM for crossfires didn't work second set "all purpose" didn't work either so we are going to drive around for a while with this third set and see if it " resets " itself
Now back to my 2005 SRT (odometer 5100 mi) with tires having 19,000 mi and one year old sensors had no problems during my appx 200 mile addition exercising it the pass year so I decided to check
and make sure the TMS were functioning ok sure enough when I let air from one of the tires, it
correctly registered and lit up however the TMS light will now not go off after correcting the pressure
Cost $120 for the Chrysler dealer who had installed these TMS on these rims about a year ago to reprogram them to the SRT drove away from the dealer and within 5 miles the light was back on
Monday its going back to the dealer to keep until its fixed
For those of you still with me after this epistle thank you any ideas?

Hey Ed Mahoney! Would you please share any details at hand about exactly how Tire Rack was able to replace your TPMS without requiring you to track down the DRB III and Daimler adapter and Crossfire program card? I have already exchanged a couple emails with Tire Rack sales, they have so far said I would have to go to a dealer to have the sensors relearned by the car.
So your Tire Rack connection is better! Either the South Bend shop (do other Tire Rack distribution centers also install tires?) had a DRB III and related necessary hardware (VERY unlikely), or they were able to clone the identity of your previous sensors into the new sensors they put into your new tires.

FYI there is a South Bend Chrysler Dealer that will do the relearn process for $195, but I suggest you drive straight north to vanAndel and Flikkema, they will charge one half hour labor and get it right the first time!
