Tire Pressure Sensors
MY Tire pressure sensor warning light is on. I am due to get new tires, should i replace all for? Costco does not think they can program them. Any suggestions, or should i just get rid of them. I plan to sell the car soon, will this be a issue with average buyer if light is on? Thanks.
we can do them for you

TPMS is not Federally mandated for 2005 or earlier cars.( I think that started in 2006). I disconnected mine years ago and disabled the light.

There is a ton of info on the forum as to how to replace and which item to purchase. Look through the sticky posts and you will find what you need.

One caution about 2005 model crossfires- the 2005 models used both frequencies (433 MHz and 315MHz) TPMS so if you look on Rockauto for a TPMS for 2005 it gives you a 433MHz part which, I found out the hard way doesn't work on my 2005 car. So, either get a dual frequency model, or buy them from the tire shop after they have removed one TPMS to verify which frequency it's running. Also, a cloneable type TPMS is preferable since most tire shops won't have a DRB III to train the crossfire system (again, another lesson learned the hard way).

I just learned this past weekend that our 2016 VW Beetle Dune Hatchback doesn't use TPMS wheel sensors to monitor tire pressures. When I asked how VW accomplishes this, I was told that the ECM collects this data using the wheel speed sensors & monitors the tire pressures. Been doing it this way since 2012!
