I was having problems with my top. It would not push back 8 inches when its unlocked as you are instructed to do when lowing the top. So I would push the button until the top stopped and would then push it back and that seemed to work OK 5-8 times. The last time I believe I broke what is called the Main Link on the driver’s side. It could also be the Center Rail because the parts catalog does not tell you which is which. In any case I need just that one part not the entire repair kit (#05166498AA). Any help on which one I need and where I could purchase that part would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks, I saw those but the one I'm looking for is not there. I hope I don't have to buy the entire frame for that one part. I'm also thinking about looking into having it welded back together. It's cast aluminum and I think they can weld that.

 

Well I fixed the problem. Attached you will see pictures of the before and after. They not only welded the break but added an extra piece of metal to reenforce it, so far so good.
