Default Only 100 miles and headlight and directional failure

Hello this is my first thread, hope it is in the correct place:

Some will say take it to the dealer, but i say its the weekend and i feel like tinkering!

After one VERY rainy day my Driver's side front directional and low beam headlight are inoperative!

All fuses check out: GOOD!

I have download (thanks forum) the 3,307 page service manual for the schematics.

Has this occurred before with anyone else? I did a search on this forum and came up with nothing. On the MB forum the SLK had some front wiring issues that the ground distribution wire got chaffed... i will check.

Thanks in advance!

Default Re: Only 100 miles and headlight and directional failure

I just now am experiencing this problem with my right low beam. I have checked the fuse and even replaced the bulbs and it is still out. The only thing I have not done is the ground check. Unfortunately, the manual doesn't specify where the ground attaches to the body and the wiring for the headlight wraps under the light and a bunch of metal so I wasn't able to easily follow it. Any clues as to where the headlamps ground to?

G101 was mentioned in the manual but I don't know what G101 is and again, the manual didn't specify (unless I am missing it all together when I'm reading).

Thanks!

I am having the same problem, but with both of my low beam headlights... I checked the wires going to the headlight plug and I am getting power. The next step would be to get 2 new headlights, but I doubt that will fix the problem... What did you guys to fix the problem??
