Default Extended warranties

My 06 Ltd warranty will be up in March 2010, and I'd like to get an extended warranty, like the Maxcare. I got a quote for 1800 from the dealer for 7/70, or maybe even 8/80. I called Chrysler warranty and at the "sale" price, 50% off i was quoted 2400, which sounds stupid to me because that means their price was 4800.

My question is if anyone can recommend an extended warranty company that plays it straight for a reasonable sum, and what has anyone's experiences with them have been with any that you do have. This would obviously help us us to have a good and fair source to go to if we want that coverage. I'm a little leery of Max Care as they are underwritten by Chrysler and can pull out at any time. thoughts would be appreciated. Mark

I will say this.... if you buy direct from Chrysler it will be more expensive. Your best bet is to shop around by calling dealerships. They can cut you a deal and have it financed through Chrysler at 0% interest. I think they will only divide the payments over the period of a year. You can start with the dealership that sold you the car. Chances are they will give you a better deal than anyone else because they sold you the car. I think I paid 1,400 for mine and it was for 7 years and 85K miles. I got a really good deal... not sure why but I wasn't going to argue. The warranty is worth every penny. One thing breaks on that car and it just paid for itself. That is why the price is so high because the Crossfire is considered a "specialty car". It is special alright!

I know a guy who owns a company that sells extended warranties. I think that what he sells is pretty shadey and has plenty of loopholes to benefit the company. I'd buy from chrysler.

I agree with Rick. Only buy Chrysler and don't let them sell you anything else. My warranty is Chrysler and that is the only one I would buy. Can't beat a warranty straight from the manufacturer. They even cover rental cars and towing.

I just bought 7/70 MaxCare to take over in March when the factory runs out. I bought direct from Chrysler and got it for $1765. I followed the link on the left side of the Chrysler homepage.

Yep, they had the best price I could find after an extensive search. And yes it is a Chrysler Maxcare.

Ok, then. It appears that the best price is 1250 for the 7/60 maxcare, from a dealer in Vermont. anybody know which dealer so i can contact him for that? I have a yamaha Motorcycle in MN, that i found a warranty price from a dealer in CA that was half off the MN price, so I think this is the way to go. The Chrysler site says 1530 for the 100 deductible 7/60 maxcare. That's with a 185 discount valid through 2/11.

What is the discount you're referring to? Okay, I figured it out. It is a discount of $185 off their quoted price until Feb 11. So, I guess I would discount another $185 off the prices listed below.

What is the site/place you got your original quote of 1/2 off $4800?

I'm not sure all sites are "official" Chrysler sites.
From what I gather, the Chrysler site requires someone to call you.

I've an '08 w/factory lifetime power train and ~1500 miles on the odometer
I went to the site listed above ( http://www.chryslerwarrantys.com/index.cfm ) and it provided the following:
Choose Your Preferred Deductible
$0 deductible
$50 deductible
$100 deductible

Choose Your Preferred Term
5 years
6 years
7 years
Lifetime

Choose Your Preferred Plan Type
Standard Plans
100% Money-Back Plans

Term-------Coverage Through-----Added Care Plus---Maximum Care
7/60,000-----2015-----60,000-----------$760-----------------$975
7/70,000-----2015-----70,000-----------$820---------------$1,090
7/85,000-----2015-----85,000-----------$940---------------$1,265
7/100,000----2015---100,000---------$1,085---------------$1,480
I have not yet contacted Chrysler from the Chrysler.com website as it looks like the only way is via a telephone call.
You can see for yourself by going to Chrysler.com and clicking on the box in the right hand upper side that says "For Owners" or use my link:
http://tinyurl.com/awtmda

They have a section FAQ. These are a couple of answers:
1) You can upgrade and downgrade your plan and deductible by calling 1-800-521-9922.
2) The price of your service contract is based upon a number of factors like the purchase type (new or used), the length of your manufacturer warranty (3/36 or Lifetime — for example), the deductible you choose, etc. Please call 1-800-442-2666 and a trained specialist will walk you through the steps to determine the best coverage for your individual needs.

yes, Veloce, that's where I went, Chrys warranty.com. the diff in price is because my 06 is a 3/36 so your LT powertrain is basically ded, and your price is lower reflecting that for all the other stuff. Why they just went 3/36 in 06, then back to the 7/70 and LT PT warranty is beyond me. I like Chrysler cars, but their business practices and continuity and by the way getting back to you from HQ direct leaves alot to be desired. Anyway, the place they quoted me in Dec was directly from Chrysler, off the mailing, 2400 was the sales price, which meant that it was 4800 and I asked her that specifically. I'm trying to get ahold of someone there, but they don't call me back either.

Great customer service, eh?

I wonder what the connection with "chryslerwarrantys.com" and Chrysler Corp are?
Maybe someone here will explain it?

OK, I'm confused. Which warranty provided is really Chrysler? If you google it, you come up with about a half-dozen---All claiming to be Official Chrysler.

any answers?

This is an earlier quote I got from them. I went with the 7/60 about two months later from a dealer in Vermont for $1250, the best price at the time. Sorry I can't find that quote.

I think most of these sites are selling real Chrysler service contract through dealers. They quote you from which ever dealer is willing to take the least profit that day.

It worked a year ago.

This works now

http://www.chrysler.com/en/service_contracts/

I entered my VIN, name and mileage. It says I have 7/60 MaxCare expiring on 5/19/2012 or 60,000 miles.
