Default Re: HOW TO replace headlight bulb. Pictured step by step instructions

Well, the passenger low beam went out about two weeks ago. I had bought a set of two bulbs last year wihen the driver side low went.

Last saturday morning, I thought it time to get on this frustrating job. I could NOT get the damn connector off the lamp, I SWEAR I was gonna pull the housing to pieces. So, after 40 minutes (ok, fine, maybe not that long - seemed like it), I worked the clip out of there and removed clip/bulb/connector as a unit.

I STILL had a hell of a time, ended up using a flat blade screwdriver to pry the lamp from the socket.

Anyway - THEN I struggled to get the cliip back where it goes. Finally, I read thru the thread and found the following post, from post 37:

You know what it looks like so with one fingertip on a hinge point you slide the end of the spring under your fingertip and feel it go into its position. Move your finger tip to the other hinge point and repeat.
No mirrors required just use your sense of feel, it works a treat.
I said to myself, "Not gonna help me - I have got to see what I am doing." So, I carried on for about 3 minutes. Then I heard myself, what I said to a young twerp at work about "listening to your elders", (this guy was arguing with another tech who is younger than I... but everyone is younger than I).

So, I said, "Fine", and tried for all of maybe 60 seconds - and the clip was on.
I had the bulb installed in another 1/2 minute!

You saved my a$$ that time, Dave. (But I'm still not listening to you about Lori. )
