NO. I did NOT tell you to take it to an MB dealer, if that is what you are saying, I said to take it to a local independant shop that knows MB products. For example, here in Atlanta, we go to Buckhead Imports.
But, as 100/80 has suggested, just tell us what is going on with the car, let's see if we can get to the bottom of it. There ARE numerous failures that, if you are not familiar with the car, can seem daunting, but are really easy fixes:
1) Sticky key - (HUNDREDS of dollars at a dealer, free fix at home in 90 minutes.)
2) CPS fauilre - (Up to $400 or $550 at a dealer, but part is $45 online and you can change it yourself with a T25 driver.)
3) Fuel pump and/or PTCM power failure - (over $600 at a dealer for a new RCM and labor/diagnostics; but ten minutes with a soldering iron to fix a few bad connections and you are good to go!)
4) Bad battery - car will crank and try to start - but all sorts of things will act up - new battery, problem solved.
There are others, but those are the most common. I've seen people LITERALLY spend up to $900 on any one of these, because the car acts so strangely that those working on it cant understand what is wrong.
I should also point out that my car has suffered from 1, 2 and 3. I did all the fixes myself - and I am no mechanic, just look at my avatar!
