YOu'd spend as much as using the RIGHT stuff and changing it at 7000 miles, so what is the point?
(Well, unless you go with REALLY cheap oil. As has been said, Mobile 1 0W40 is really cheap at WalMart.)
I would ALSO caution you that, as also been said, 0W40 won't be available in conventional oil - and using anything heavier than 5W50 is warned against in these engines.
You won't save enough to make it worth it, gerry. I KNOW you have WalMart out there - run in there and get two jugs of 0W40 and stop by Advance or Autozone (NAPA will be pricy) and get a Fleece filter - they cost about $12 and you are good to go for around $40
