I should tell you that I ran Mobile 1 5W50 for a LONG time in the Graphite, it was a high miles daily driver. I did two oil changes a year. Used 5W50 for the April change and 5W40 for the fall change - due to the fact that north Georgia got down to 25-30F at night a LOT.

Monitoring oil pressures, I eventually gave up on the 5W50 when I got the SE, it is driven to little, I do annual changes and 5W50 in temperatures below about 60F resulted it just too high of oil pressure at cold start. z

I've leaned towards thicker oils since I was a teen ager. Ran 15W50 and 20W50 for years in my GMC truck that called for 5W20 - that engine and truck are on the road today, March of 2013 or 14, on my birthday, the guy sent a a picture of the odometer - 408,000 miles. But with the Crossfires, I won't put ANYthing in there that is not on the 229.3 list.
