Yea, and soon, all states will require the car to be electric and what that will cost you is not their problem, but yours.

We have emissions and "Safety" inspections in Texas. I was nervous as my light has been on five years and I just moved here. Guy said, "That light is not on my safety list, so you are good". They look at outside lights, turn signals, emergency and regular brake operation, wipers, tire tread depth and if the windshield washer works - that's it.

You know, you can disable the airbag light. If they are not scanning specifically for that item, I believe you'd be fine. If you want help with that, I can send you instructions.
