There are sites online that say they can reset it. Yours is the Crossfire specific version, 04 and 05 had the Mercedes version which is compatible. On Car-part.com an auto salvage place said they had one in stock referenced with the Chrysler part number (68024494AA), the phone number is 817-330-0040 I would make sure the airbags were not deployed and if they can send you a picture of the actual part so you can confirm the part numbers.
Then I would be tempted to "fix" the light. Does it impact performance ?
Why for cars 20ish years old, I tend to have a spare. Also provides a shed for the parts.
I have a solution: Get over it. Just because the nanny state says you need an airbag, does NOT mean you need an airbag.
My light has been on since 2016 in my 07 SE. I got a new module, but as others have learned, the 07-08s take a different module.
I gave up. I'ts just a harmless little light. I've had two instances of airbags going off in my face, in both cases, the only injury from the accident was caused by the airbag.
I'd be better off removing the steering wheel airbag anyway.
I have an 08 Crossfire Ltd coupe.
Looking for any info if the ORC module in the MB SLK R170 platform can be used to replace the ORC module no longer supported/produced by Chrysler with regards to the SRS system and air bag light on?
I did the unthinkable and went to dealer who has a Crossfire experienced tech and tools to diagnose the vehicle. My light came on back in Sept. 2021 thought is was because the battery went dead in vehicle. Not the problem the ORC module went bad. The Chrysler tech traced out all the wiring and found it to be in working order just bad ORC module.
Can the ORC module be repaired or must it be replaced.
Appreciate any info on this subject. For now a piece of electrical tape takes care of having see the light!
Thank you Miss Kitty NJ

I have the same problem. 2007-08 Crossfires apparently have passenger airbag modules unique to those 2 years. Due to the fact few 07-08 CFs were produced and the modules are no longer manufactured we have to wait for a rare one to come available as a used part. That's the information I've come up with. As for "repair", I've been given different information. No one has stepped forward to tell of a successful module repair.
FIRST:
Just do what I did: FORGET IT. The airbag injures a lot of people and saves only one person out of 250,000 crashes anyway.
YOu can take a used one form another car PROVIDED it matches your year (due to the changes made that post 15 addressed, the 07-08s used a different module, keep reading) and, using a STAR computer or similar, reset the used module to your car. You can not order new ones for Crossfires or MB products, this is not a "Crossfire" failing, it's because the platform is not supported very well even by MB.
The 001 820 08 26[08] is used in a TON of MB products, but you can't get them anymore.
SECOND:
The only repair facility I of is these people and they dont do/no longer do Airbag modules: http://www.sosdiagnostics.com/
THIRD: Detailed answer from Clint, retired Chrysler engineer for safety systems (and proud Crossfire owner, he comes to Woodward, the Dragon, etc.) on the Crossfire and other Chrysler products in the 1990s and 2000s:
The airbag module had to be different for 2007-8 because the knee airbag was added. At minimum that would have required software updates, which would have (should have) been indicated by part number differences, too. But the whole Crossfire part number strategy and control was complicated by the Chrysler & Karmann & Mercedes mix of parts and control.
In some (normal) Chrysler modules the module part number could sometimes stay the same, but firmware could differ according to vehicle equipment or trim level. Sometimes this firmware could be changed or updated by dealership equipment. The bastard status of Crossfire DRB III dealership diagnostic makes me expect this is NOT possible for a Crossfire.
TL;DR short answer: No, airbag module must be different. Oh, and the idea that the module would ever have been the same as in R170 would not be true. Even if the connected airbag hardware was the same, crash calibrations would have to be different for the different cars.

The state of Rhode Island allows NO dash lights to be on at the time of safety inspection in order to receive the state required inspection sticker. NO lights on. Much less the bright red airbag light.

Yea, and soon, all states will require the car to be electric and what that will cost you is not their problem, but yours.
We have emissions and "Safety" inspections in Texas. I was nervous as my light has been on five years and I just moved here. Guy said, "That light is not on my safety list, so you are good". They look at outside lights, turn signals, emergency and regular brake operation, wipers, tire tread depth and if the windshield washer works - that's it.
You know, you can disable the airbag light. If they are not scanning specifically for that item, I believe you'd be fine. If you want help with that, I can send you instructions.
BTW a good scan tool will tell both the manufacturer and usually the part number of the module. Unfortunately mine is an 04 and different however previously I had an '07 and the recall was done. It was a nightmare.
For NLA parts I usually go to eBay but SRS light (caused by the ORC) could be caused by an improper battery change.

Thanks, but I don't have the savvy to do it & finding a mechanic here willing to risk their state license to do it will be difficult. I've asked a few.
