I never ever thought about a crossfire! I'm not a Chrysler fan! never owned one. Bought a new Pontiac Solstice in Dec '05, waited 8 months for the car! I've been a GM buyer till 1984 when I bought a new 300zx turbo, I drove this car every day for 16 years. I love nissan products, wife drove a 1985 maxima station wagon for 17 years, fantastic products. Had a 280zx, several spitfires, mg's, corvettes, I stopped buying american cars in 1984, fit & finish was terrible and dealers could care less so I bought new nissans. I thought I'd try a GM product after I saw the new Solstice loved the looks!! I owned it for 1 1/2 years and the car was a fun to drive but the fit & finish was poor, I was very disappointed in the quality, will never buy GM again!!! I was going to get a new 350Z but my wife always loved the crossfire so I decided to look at this car. After checking out this car and looking at the prices I looked at one at a dealership in York PA. I was impressed with the Quality, Paint, warranty. I found a '05 roadster in Windbar Pa with 20,000 mile, one owner, 7-70 warranty, Black, perfect cond for $16,500, I drove it, one of the best cars I've driven. I bought it, very happy with this car!!! I sent the rollbars out to be chromed, and putting new 20" rims on this spring. Car is in the garage till spring, thinking about buying a SRT 6 coupe! LOVE THIS CAR!!!

For me, it was love at first sight. I didn't know anything about the car regarding the German engineering or what not. I just wanted it because it is such a beautiful car which I couldn't resisit gawking at. When I found out it's a Chrysler, I was a little disappointed but my jaw dropped when I learned that I could own te car for a mere $21,000 - it was a brand new left over 04' blazed red. I bought the car the same day. Two years later, I still have a smirk on my face whenever I take it out occasionally on a weekend trek.

P.S. In New York city, it is still a rarity to see another CF on the road.

I haven't been a Chrysler fan since the Hemi came stock with 426ci. I didn't take the car seriously until I was sure it didn't have a Chrysler part on the car. As soon as I realized I could have Mercedes build quality for a fraction of the cost while also having a limited production car that looked 100 times better than the SLK it was based on, I traded my Mercedes for it.

I didn't choose the Crossfire, it chose me. Just waited until the price dropped to full sticker and it was a done deal. How people held out for years is something I just can't fathom. That demonstrates far more will power than I've ever had.

I , as an owner of Mercedes Benz autos, personally almost did not buy my crossfire because of how inexpensive it was, that until I drove it. The dealer let me take it out for an hour on a test drive and during the drive I realized the cornering capabilites of this auto as well as it's acceleration and many looks I got. When I returned from the drive the salesman opened the hood and told me it had a mercedes motor, I was sold.

Economy rental, San Antonio... crossfire...economy rental? ARE YOU SURE? OK... I'll take the car... had it for a week. LOVED every minute of it. So...didn't one show up at a local dealer... 15,900 miles.. '05, it took about this long to say "I'll take it". Oh and BTW how much did you say you wanted for that car... $16,000...
It's History now...

True Story !
Riding the HD home from the grind one afternoon, stuck in wonderful downtown Austin traffic ! I was settin idleing, going absolutely nowhere just behind an Alabaster White Crossfire. I was admiring the wonderful lines of the machine in front of me, the guy settin in the next lane over was admiring both the XF and the Harley when he rolled down his window and shouted out over noise of the free flowing traffic headed in the opposite direction.
" Damn ! That would be one a hella of a choice to make each morning ! "

Well, as they say, the rest is History !

I'm stuck on the unique! I bought mine to match me bike ! I have a Vmax by Yamaha and there isn't another bike with as unique styling. Now, not only does my bike draw the eyes, but with the Crossfire, people get crosseyed staring at my driveway! Gotta love it!

Sounds like my story except substitute a Honda CX650 Turbo in place of a Vmax. A factory turbo Honda bike does draw attraction. Rare bikes and very few people have a clue as to what they are.

I didn't choose it, it chose me. On June 28th, 2003 I was in the showroom of Marlow Heights Chrysler to trade my PT Cruiser Ltd on a GT Cruiser. Same car but a little cooler and faster. While I was wandering around the showroom waiting for the sales guy to get back from one of many meetings with the sales manager I saw it. What the hell is this? A Crossfire? Silver Blue metallic, Never heard of it?
One of the other sales managers must have seen the drool from my mouth and he came over and told me about the car. Wanna sit in it? Real bad suggestion, of couse I sat in it. I sat in it two or three times. "Just came in yesterday", he said. We popped the hood, all kinds of thoughts are now running through my head. Sticker on the window said $37,000 FIRM. No way I thought but definitely one of the prettiest, coolest most unique cars I'd ever seen. So at approximately 11:00 a.m. June 28th , 2003 my love affair with the Crossfire began. I drove home though in my new GT Cruiser. I told my wife when I got home about the car I saw and you get free luggage with it! Unfortunately she could understand a car she couldn't see but she'd hear about for the next two years over and over. About a year and a half later I started the "quest". Tired of driving PT's after 4 years and I was ready for the Crossfire. I went to dealers all over the place.....they had ads in the paper for 27,900 but when you got there no 27,900. My heart sank. I loved the Crossfire, had to have one. About 6 months later I decide to try again. This time at a new dealership in Rockville. I go in and its pretty much the same story, too upside down on the GT, payments were huge. And the salesman says to me "aren't you Katie and Sean's dad"? It turned out Mike was one of their high school buddies turned car salesman. So I told him where I wanted to be on the car, if anything ever looked promising, call me.
About 3 weeks later I'm at the beach and my cell phone rings and its Mike.
With the incentives and employee discount I think I can get you in the car come in when you get back. I spent Friday afternoon haggling. I think I pushed poor Mike as far as you can push a car salesman. I was ready to walk out, again and the salesmgr said lets sit. We went back and forth for another 20 minutes or so and met halfway. Said to myself this is as close as it gets, DO IT! So Mike had to drive to Allentown PA in a horrible rainstorm that Friday evening to pick up my car but the next day I had exactly the car I had dreamed about for two long years. What made it even better was there was a crowd around it when I pulled out of the lot. I signed on here not to long after that and I have been a very happy Crossfire owner since.

I chose mine because it was dirt cheap and it was an intriguing autocross choice on paper.

Mine was 4th of 42 in DS at nationals.

Unfortunately not with me driving it...I was 14th

A first and a couple 2nd's by me and my co-driver during the "regular season" of national events.

Shocks come off this weekend to go back to Koni for a re-valve...hopefully next year is a little better!

I almost didn't get mine. January 2004 my wife and I were at the dealership buying her a Jeep Liberty. Right next to the Liberty on the showroom floor was this new white Crossfire. I couldn't stop looking at it and thinking how cool the wheels were and the lines on the hood and the retractable spoiler. The salesman told me the price and I thought I will never be able to afford something like that....

I was going to trade in my 5spd Jetta and maybe get a Mustang Bullit. Didn't happen. My wife drove her car for a month and decided it wasn't big enough for her, so she wanted another minivan.
OK, guess who got stuck with the Jeep Liberty as a daily driver?

4 years later...

I told my wife once I pay off the Dodge Minivan and the Jeep Liberty, I want to buy a sports car just for fun. I missed having a good cruising car on the freeways. She said as long as it has a back seat, your can get any sports car you want. Gee Thanks! Now what choices do I have, Mustang, GTO, Camaro????

I test drove each of them and wasn't impressed. So back to the negotiations... why do I need a backseat in my sports car? After convincing her that I don't need to have the kids with me during my drive to work and home each day, I was back on the true sports car hunt?

TT, 350Z, and the S2000 were the only ones in my price range. Mind you, my wife doesn't work and this would be my third vehicle. I started shopping and reading reviews about sports cars and came across this forum. I read the enthusiam from owners on edmunds.com and people like yourselves and was sold. I had to have one.

I bought a 2005 SSB Coupe Limited in December 2007. I have only had it 3 weeks and have already received many comments on how good it looks.

Just like you all said.

Hey Otis...if you don't already, it sounds to me like you ought to have a job in sales.

As you can tell from my name, I am a old corvette guy, but the hood and the wing just turned my head and got my attention. Then that bunch of 2006's were released late or found or whatever, anyway that along with the price reduction that was offered, i couldnt refuse.

Exotic looking, distinctive car at a bargain price as opposed to the 2007 Corvettes, I was considering at the same time.
I'm really glad I chose the Crossfire, when I drive it and when I make the monthly payments.
