The DupliColor Hyper Silver comes in a kit in a box. I got it at O'reillys on sale can't remember the cost but wasn't bad. Kit contains one can of silver and one can of clear coat. I bought two kits one for front and one for rears. Ran a little close on the clear coat but had enough to finish. I was really pleased with the outcome.
Did you prepare the wheels (sand, prime) before you painted?

Of course I prepped before painting. Washed with soap and water, then scuffed all over with a scotch brite pad, then wiped down with brake cleaner to prevent fish eyes, masked off tires then squirted..... No need to prime.

I order all my detailing supplies online, so I am not 100%, but last time I tried to get one of these products locally, they were not available. Instead of the $5 bottle of brake cleaner, these are generally in the $20-$30 range, but worth every penny, IMHO.

Anyone else see these high end brake cleaners locally? Just curious...

I always use these guys:

Gentlemen, not to seem stupid or uninformed....but you're spending a whole lot of money on brake dust removal? Then I posit this...is the use of a homemade concoction possibly harmful to the wheels or the finish? So far after 2 years I can't see a diff in the finish on the wheels.
I have been using a 50/50 mix of straight Simple Green and old fashion Pinesol. Looks funky (yes, I used the word funky), smells like a pine forest and works great. I spray it on just before going to the car wash, hit the tires as the machine switches over to the soap mode, washes right off.

I know what you are saying, but unfortunately the types of cleaners you describe do not do the same thing. These cleaners are not for your weekly wheel cleaning, unless you are lazy or short on time, but if you haven't cleaned a set of wheels in years or have brake dust that will not come off, these are basically like magic. They chemically bond to the ferrous material and lift it away, I am not a chemical engineer, but after using them, I am a believer. I use them mostly for cars I am 'bringing back from the dead' or detailing for a friend that isn't as meticulous as I am. Watch the video to see what I mean...

Finally after 2 yrs I installed the belt wrap kit on to the roadster. I was inspecting my pulley on the coupe, and found the crank pulley not spinning true. I believe it is in the beginnings of failing for whatever reason. 26k miles on it, and has never been touched as I run SC pulleys. I will keep everyone informed once I have it off. Going to detail them later on today. Gave them a little work out with my #1 son today as well. Took a car collector buddy of mine for a romp in the roadster. He is now hooked. Once his new house and 8 car garage is finished in Carmel (John) he wants me to find him one. Has my interest up in my cars again.

Me too with the detailing.
Removed and cleaned the wheels, wheel wells, calipers and rockers. Detailed the black thingey the top rests on, and applied the 45th coat of Zaino.
( kidding, but I think it was about the 6th coat )

I really need to get my wheels cleaned up well. Ill have to try the iron-x and see if it improves the appearance at all. If not I'll have to refinish them

I have a new set of tires (kooks ) I want to mount on them, but I don't want to do that until :
a. the current set is worn out ( I'm at about 50% now ).
b. I get the wheels refinished, and that ain't in the budget just now.
( plus, I have yet to find a decent place around here that will refinish them at a reasonable price - they just need cosmetic, they all run true, I mounted each one up on a front spindle and dial gauged them )

Kinda hurts when I look at the nice cement pad and carport we put up for the travel trailer and pontoon.. I keep thinking a little more tin for siding.. door at each end.. LOL. Maybe one of these days.. Not like we have a shortage of realestate for it..

Sunday met up with fellow Forum member Rayth for the final car show of this year @ Jon Ryan's Pub in Tewksbury, Ma. The weather was just the best it could be for a ride and a meet.
