This looks great, can you post some tips on how to do it for us?
I have always fancied a double DIN unit with navigation.

WOW that was a tremendous amount of work! It turned out very well and you should be proud of the great work you did on that project!

I always wondered what you Canadians do while you're snowed in for the winter . . .

Today replaced a bulb for the plate illumination. Now I don't have "lights out" warning anymore.

Released the beast from the dark dungeon of winter storage. I think I may have to go for a drive....

I did the conductor plate job today, wasn't as bad as I originally thought it would be. It looked like the cause for the P0715 I was getting was an accumulation of fine steel particles around the speed sensor. I'm wondering if this was "insulating" the sensor from producing an accurate reading while running. In any case the car shifts better than new!

If I found steel particles in my transmission I would be looking for where they came from. That does not sound good at all.

Fairly normal for any transmission really... They wouldn't put a magnet in the transmission pan for no reason.

Tried to change the transmission pilot bushing as preventive maintenance. But I broke my T27 bit attempting to get the heat shield off. I tried my T27 key wrench first but to no avail, so I moved up to my 1750 in/lb impact driver. It wouldn't budge and eventually the driver disintegrated the bit. Since it wasn't leaking anyway, I decided to leave it alone and hand wash it instead LOL.

It didn't have the MB recommended 'green dot' for post TSB, and it only had 5K miles when I bought it = I doubt it was ever upgraded. So, I expect it will leak sometime in the future.

Tested out the beautiful $3 carbon fiber mini antenna I just installed and lost one of the two stations I listen to.

What does that mean? My car also had only 5K miles when I bought it.

The Mercedes TSB required the dealer to put a green dot on the connector after it was replaced so that future techs could easily tell if it was the original or upgraded. I'm not sure if ChryCo followed the same suggestion or not.

Since mine was a garage queen with so few miles, I suspect that it was not ever changed out.
