What did you do to your Crossfire today?

380hp/390tq. headers make a difference. a very large difference. and the sound is great. when we ran a quickie down the street w the headers opened, it was like riding in a plywood floor '27 t-bucket. the header outlets are right in front of the seats. noise, vibration and acceleration freaking nuts, in fact I almost...
these numbers are uncorrected for the dynojet 4 wheel drive dyno. 380/390 moving all 4 wheels on a nearly new (24 cars) dyno. factor 7% for the front wheels easy 407/417, factor all 4 at the approx. 22% figure itsa nuts, 464/475.
patiently tuned by jerry @ jerrycharged oops eurocharged. maxed out in this config.
btw note this "only" a 181 pulley

Thanks for the info, that's good stuff. It gives me some idea what to expect with the 181 and 70 SC pulley stacked setup. Must make you feel good just to know "whutcha got" under you.
Installed Kenwood doubledin DNX771HD. Rear view camera, HDMI in, USB ports and nav. Lots of console fabrication. Will post images when I'm done tomorrow.
Split the signal from the Amp to the rear subs. Can adjust them as rear speakers.
All was accomplished using information from various threads. Thanks to all of your previous contributions. I couldn't have done this without you.
3 month project.

Replaced the brake fluid and bled the hydraulic system out. I seem to have found a lead on a bizarre electrical issue I've been having as well.

Two repairs: 1) Noticed a coolant leak and traced it to the coolant tank. The small hose barb that the small hose connects to on top had cracked. I've seen where some owners have replaced this hose barb with a brass one from a hardware store, but I just bought a replacement tank. I saw some online for about $70 with free shipping, but I was in a hurry because I didn't want the problem to leave my wife stranded somewhere. I bought one from the Chrysler dealership for $90 (Mercedes had one for $114). Swapping the part out was pretty easy but I spilled more coolant than I intended to. 2) Cleaned our MAF sensor. We had been dealing with an intermittent and worsening rough idle and sometimes when giving it gas from a standstill at a light, the engine would stumble as if it was about to die. I had reset the accelerator pedal a few times, and checked the air filters, but I thought I'd give the MAF sensor clean a try. I followed a couple different pictorials on some MB forums. One was particularly helpful ( http://www.benzworld.org/forums/atta...eaning-maf.pdf) because it showed exactly where to clean the sensor. My sensor did not appear to be dirty when I took it apart. It may be too early to tell if this is the fix, but I noticed an obvious improvement in throttle response, so I'm hopeful.

I have to be totally (and embarrassingly) honest, ever since buying this car, I sometimes sneak out to the garage (a separate building on my property about 50 ft from my home), I open the door, and just look at her. Who knows, maybe I am just seeing if someone snuck in and took her, or maybe I am just oogling her, or maybe I am just congratulating myself for finding this absolute GEM of a car that it seems not too many thought was worth their time and/or money. HeII maybe I am doing all three but I am guilty of being (and acting) like a kid in a candy story both when I look at her, or drive her. Guilty as charged for having a disorder that should absolutely be in DSM-IV ( Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders ), known as WIWWM-ICSSATC syndrome (What Is Wrong With Me - I Can't Stop Staring At The Crossfire). Oh, I also hear there is no cure.

I received the conductor plate kit and transmission filter kit I ordered today. The Dorman 917-679 is actually just a re-boxed OEM Mercedes conductor plate. Looks like I'll be doing that job this weekend!
They would not be my cup of tea, however, if they look good to you, who the _ell cares what everybody else thinks? You're driving it, put on what YOU want.
One good thing about those rims and all other rims for that matter, if they are ugly as hell at least you cannot see them when you are driving.
Those rims aren't the look I'd go for. They look better on a large car IMO. I've seen something similar, or the same ones, on a big BMW in 22's more or less and liked them. If you like unique and different or just want to create conversation, good or bad, do it!

I put everything back together and put the insurance back on the car, so tomorrow I am on the road again.
