Pulled the windshield cowl off...yet again....& took out the alarm siren to see if I can get it apart & working. I'm hoping I'll be able to make one working siren out of the two dead ones I have.
While I was under the hood I put in the door lock buzzer mod. Thanks to everyone that contributed their thoughts on that - easy mod & it works just fine.

No problem. But out of curiosity, why?

I had a minor celebrity in the '6 for the parade this weekend:

Oh and the detail job is good if I do say so myself.

When I had my cowl off, I painted it and the wiper arms body color (graphite metallic) and it really gives it a nice, subtle finished look as opposed to the facing grey plastic. Just a thought...

That's not a bad idea. Maybe when I pull it off (yet again) to reinstall the siren. Do you have any pics? We're the same color.

You are talking about detailing the car right?

The guy in the background looks like he wants to be front and center.

Finally got the headlights out and cleaned with methanol...used some that was $4/gal. Seems to have done the job...

Second photo is with the driver's side done, for comparison...first one is after finishing the passenger side...

Took apart two bad sirens - my old random squealer and a completely dead salvage. Cleaned up the circuit board on my old one and swapped in a couple of parts from the dead one. Reinstalled it & so far so good....it works....I guess now we just wait to see if it wakes the neighbours at 4AM.
Fitted the drivers side wiper grommet thingey while I was under the cowl again too. Hopefully that's the last time I'm under there for a long time.

Well I'm sure we'd be happy to have you join us at the track if that fits in your schedule.

Hit 3 weeks of vacation this year so it makes it doable for us. Wife works for the city of Tulsa and has vacation days out the ears.. LOL.

An older picture, but you can see where the entire thing is painted graphite, the true enthusiasts are the only ones who notices stuff like that and the wiper arms, but it sure does look nice and clean...

A bit quieter. Deeper. Silent at cruising speeds. You only hear it under acceleration/load.

Happy I did it!

Looks fantastic, I have been toying with doing mine for some time, but after having a magnaflow on the last car, I am not sure what I want as far as sound.

Looking forward to hearing that, they did an awesome job...
