Default Need guidance on buying a Crossfire

Am looking for a post-2004 non-SRT Crossfire. I know a lower-miles care is usually better, but what is the "sweet spot" on miles for these cars?

Thanks

Just out of curiosity, why are you avoiding the '04 models?

I had read (online) there were some enigne problems on the '04s. Is that true or not? If not, I'd be glad to look @ a 2004....

My guess bank loan. Many places for "auto loan rates" they want less the 10 years.
There are plenty with around 50k-60k miles
For a N/A 6 speed would be my only choice.
What area do you live in?
And depends on how far you are willing to go for your new XFire.

I own a 2004 blaze inferno red pearl coat with 59k miles on her. She rides beautifully, only problem I ever had was the camshaft position sensor. The engine is the same on all the models from all the years. She's my daily driver btw, got her with just over 30k miles. The 2004 model year had all the extra options as standard, so there's really no reason to avoid it.

I live in Los Angeles. I'd rather find a California/Southwest car, but am willing to consider all options. The coplors I like best are silver and red. Light blue is fine too.

No need to exclude the 2004 model
Same motors and reliability as all the other years

I've been on this forum for almost 7 years and have had my 2004 Coupe 7 years too
87000 miles and no issues to be concerned about

Helpful Info for those looking to purchase a Crossfire

The 04 manuals DID have a 1st gear pop-out problem... other than that, the other posts kinda covered all points.

Is there anyone I can contact who is perhaps the premier XFire broker who help find me a car?

If not, which web sites besides this one would everyone reccommnend searching? Ebay? Cars.com?

Thanks again to everyone!

EBay, auto trader, craigslist. Msg me your town and zip code and I will look some up tomorrow while I sitting in truck waiting on trains. Like I did today.

There are a lot on craigslist in your area.
There is a 07 red for $8500 that would be worth looking at. He says if there is anything you can find wrong he will get it fixed before you pay for it.

Before you go look at vehicle look at book price. Then go look at vehicle, if it is overpriced but you like it tell seller/dealer let me pull up KGB or Nada on my phone right now and I will pay the price that is listed $0 more. 9 times out of 10 they will go for that price.
I prefer manual, but what is your preference on trans, and colors while I looking?

I would prefer an automatic because the roads in LA County are so crowded. My favorite colors would be (in no order) 1) silver; 2) red (or orange); 3) light blue.

As for the miles, do you think any car under 70,000 is good?

Thanks Speedy!

Looking on iaai website and I have found several with around 200k on them. Are you looking for a weekender? Or daily driver? Average miles per week?
I am in my sapphire silver 6 SPD. 4.5-8.5 hrs a week. I have two other vehicles I could drive. I just like the driving the XFire better.

I like autotrader.com You can set up a search and they email you updates most every day. That is how I found mine.

Flew to Arizona, bought it and drove home 2200 miles in four days - best trip ever. It is the car pictured below, had 44,000 on it and I paid $11,700 in December of 2010.

Go to Cars.com and do the same, between autotrader and cars.com, you will know about almost every Crossfire for sale - other than eBay, which CAN be an "ok" place to look.
