Removing gas door
Hello Everyone,
I have to remove my gas door for the paint guy to get it matched
for some paint work, does anyone kinow how to remove that?
He mentioned something about sticking a screw driver into a hole to release
a latch? I would like to remove it myself.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Where are the bolts, when I open the gas door I don't see
the bolts, could someone Please explain where the bolts are.
I am afraid to pull on anything for fear I may break something.

You are correct, there is no visible way to remove the fuel door on mine either.
Anyone ever done this ????????
Or alternatively, can anyone think of some other body painted piece that can be easily removed for paint matching ?

See this post, and halfway down it is a picture of the whole thing out and an explanation of how to release it from the inside.
OK
So I was thinking I would have to remove an external mirror for color matching
When the paint guy showed up
Open gas door, on the outer edge there is a small opening, use a skinny flat head
screw driver, insert into hole and depress a small plastic tab, then the gas door cover
slides right off. He had it off in less than a minute.
Oh ya, and to remove the door handles you must use a Screw Driver type 4mm hex
I was using a standard type L shape hex, didn't work so well. I learned that from
a Dealer Tech., who had both handles off in less than 5 minutes. I tried to tip the
fella but he wouldn't take my cash, he just told be to come back when I am ready
to put them back on. He restored my Faith in dealer,s but just a little bit though.
Thanks for all the help guys.....See ya at the Dragon
