Or the service WAS done, but the FSS was not reset when it was done.

Thanks, I was a bit confused on the clock, after some reading I thought it was days or hours, not miles when the clock was on, if there was no CLOCK it was miles. Also wasn't clear if it was miles till change, or past. I'm going to assume its past, good time to get to know the car (new to me, hence the questions) i service all my own cars so I'm going to get a crash course. Been reading the howto's here and think i got most of it down, but the "flex disc's" what is this? I'm guessing something on the rear end drive train?

wrong thread, but I see i have no heater fan (at all) never spins, I am assuming this is the same as the relay that will spins sometimes? I'm pulling fan and relay tonight i hope, read its easy, but I look at that tiny space and cant see it will be.

If I recall correctly if the number is positive it means "miles till next service". If it is a negative number it means the amount of miles that have past since the service should have been performed. So if you see the little wrenches (1 or 2) and it says -12000 that means your service A or B depending on the wrenches has been due for 12000 miles. Now of course this is not necessarily cause for concern as there might have been a service done if you have documentation but the shop forgot to reset the light!

What is the fan you speak about? The secondary air injection pump? Do you get check engine error code P0410?

Sorry the fan (heat/AC) no air movement , not running, there are many thread on the resistor failing, but most say it works sometimes. Mine never works, I have pulled the fan and resistor and ordered the resistor. I was just wondering if the resistor dies completely and it wont spin at all.
