Eurocharged Crossfire tune and pulley sale
I know it "was".. in an attempt to pull my newest roadster file - I had updated my new Win 8.1 computer. Had already installed the "old" flash version. It downloaded and updated.. and hung with some library not found. (noted a few post up). Went back into it a couple days later and it updated again - and worked fine.
The weather finally broke enough for me to give it a good thrashing. I am impressed by the 'seat of the pants' increase in power. Torque at the low end is most noticeable. The back end breaks away much more easily than before. Easy increase and a good value.
EC says the NA gets +24HP and +24TQ

If so then the SRT6 figures are not exactly true, the increase being only the same 19hp and not 38hp. I'd spring for a 38hp jump but not 19hp.
Anyone with clarification on this matter?
Here are the numbers listed on EC website for the SLK32
Stock Power 349HP / 332TQ
Eurocharged Tuned Power 368HP / 348TQ
I wonder if the XF was actually detuned in the module by DC versus just marketing claims of lower HP to keep SLK sales up?
Then when both are maximized to potential, they net out the same max?

Chrysler Crossfire
In Mercedes form, it generated 349 horsepower and 332 lbft of torque. In the Crossfire SRT-6 (in which SRT stands for "Street and Racing Technology" while 6 is the cylinder count), it is detuned to 330hp and 310lbft due to whatever reasons only DaimlerChrysler knows.
Your theory has been in dispute for years. The NA has the same type of advertised difference and it has been put down to MB not wanting the Crossfire to appear as powerful as the SLK320 and SLK32.

180; thanks for that video. It is a good bit of history.
Looking up the published numbers for SLK and XF. The NA for both are listed as the same 215HP/229TQ. And indeed there is a significant delta between the Daimler marketing numbers and the Chrysler marketing numbers.
I conversed with Jerry on this and both vehicles come with the exact same ECU mapping. This would indeed imply that the difference is all 'paper'.
They have chosen to use the manufacturer's published specifications for the 'before tune' state to avoid customer confusion and angst with respect to pre-tuned performance. The final numbers are what they have actually measured in their shop on tuned vehicles. Kind of a 'catch 22' for them. Some customers will react either way they choose to publish.
Hence the final numbers of the M112 in the SRT6 and SLK32 AMG are identical.
Further since the M112 AMG is 'End of Life', they don't see much value in a lot of additional testing to get updated numbers to publish.
