Default Speakers, need new ones.

So I have the base model coupe, two tweeters, two mids in the doors, no subs, so I doubt there is wire run back there. I'm lookin to give my sound some more oomph, I previously had a limited (I think thats the one) with subs and the infinity sound system, this one has a BT head unit, JVC KD-X50BT, JVC KD-X50BT Digital media receiver at Crutchfield.com

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on upgraded speakers, I believe the ones currently in the car are stock, they will get distorted if I turn the radio up all the way. Most likely just need better door speakers, they tweeters seem fine, I would like subs again but running the wire seems like it could be a PITA in this vehicle.

Many here have used these speakers in the doors.

Running the wires for bass speakers are not that hard. To make them sound good you will have to add an amp though.

Thanks, those looks good, nice price too. was also looking at the Kicker 40CS654 from crutchfield.

I was reading the stock amp only sends bass to the rear subs can anyone confirm? I guess that leads me to another question, is the stock amp the same in all models?

Does the base model already have the holes in the rear bulkhead for the subs, or should I go with a small powered sub that just sits in the back?

The base models don't have a amp. You would have to add one. Cant tell you about the holes. The baskets that hold the speakers (I have roadster and I guess the baskets are the same as a coupe?) would be more important and I am sure it wont have the baskets.

so I got the door panel off, broke the tab on the sail panel, thing was stuck, even after breaking it I could not remove the tab with needle nose pliers. sheesh.

So how do I go about removing the speaker from the mounting bracket, this thing is completely glued in, is there a way to remove it without destroying the thing?

Edit: Got it, ran a thin flat blade screwdriver around the speaker from the back of the mount and was able to cut some of the glue, then just used pressure to push it out from the weakened point. kinda tough tho. that thing was in there.
