Default Oil Catch Can alternatives?

I've spent hours reading about how to correct existing and/or potential problems common to our Crossfires. I think I've thoroughly reviewed the posted reasons for installing an oil catch can. Before I go to the expense and effort to install the system, I'm wondering if anyone has found other viable options for dealing with the oil residue problem. Thanks, Jim

If I was to think about it again, I would not bother to put one on the car, I have had one for some time and I have used it on two cars. I took it of the first car one day when changing the oil and thought that for the amount of oil it captured it was not worth the effort.
I put it back on my SRT and it captures some oil but if I considered this oil going through and getting burnt up it would me a minuscule amount per rev. I looked at the plenums before it went on and they were a clean as can be. Maybe with an older engine with more wear it would be better to use one, but when Valk shows the amount he captures between oil changes I somehow doubt it.

Here is what I did. No catch can needed! i removed the small covers on the valve covers, then I cut two pieces from a K&N filter to cover the vent holes between the valve covers and the smaller covers, coated the edges with silicon sealant, put them in place, replaced the small covers, voila! The vent tubes still work as advertised but there is no oil splash up to be picked up by the vent tubes and deposited in the intake.

Easy big boy.. I think he means even based on what you show.. a catch can is not a "real need" on the cars...

I love this site.
I have found that there is a lot of very good constructive advice given here.
Onehundred80 ....I always value your input.
Although I do get a little frustrated at some of the negative comments here.
My $.02

I've seen people use these to catch oil.
