Default BAS/ESP light

Has anyone had issues with their BAS/ESP light being on while the brakes work fine and your brake fluid is full? I don't know why it's on or what to do about it. Any input is greatly appreciate.

Try resetting the light. Turn the steering wheel full left, then full right, back to center. If it goes out and comes back on later, report back for possible problems.

Per the owner's manual: page 88 Synchronizing ESP?
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/Run position.
2. Rotate the steering wheel to the center position.
3. Rotate the steering wheel completely to the left, and then rotate the steering wheel completely to the right.
4. Bring the steering back to the center position.
5. The BAS/ESP malfunction indicator light will go out.
If it doesn't, then service is needed.

Is your wing up too?

If not a SRT and your wing stays up in addition to the BAS/ESP fault, the traction control relay in the RCM may be bad.

Check the electric connectors on the pressure switches at the master brake cylinder for good clean contacts.

So on my SRT the light just came on, tried the steering wheel lock to lock, no change. Where are the connectors on top or does the car need to be on the rack to check them?

A faulty brake light switch can cause this light, check to see if the brake lights are working.

OK, brake lights work, SRT so the spoiler is fixed, so to check the electrical contacts on this brake cylinder does it need to be on the rack?

It is the master cylinder where the wires are, so no rack.

You have not been forgotten, I'm researching the matter now, I will post if I come up with something 👍 in the Mean Time try this, disconnect the negative battery cable and then turn on the headlight switch for 10 to 15 minutes then reconnect making sure all connections are clean make sure you turn off the headlights switch first 😀 don't want any fireworks there by the battery would not be a good thing. Sometimes the simple things work. Have you check for trouble codes?
AutoZone or O'Reilly's , Advance Auto any of them will check For trouble codes at no charge.

Talking Re: BAS/ESP light

THis occures with no posted codes visible on standard obdII scanner. I pulled all wheel sensors to check them trying to see if that was a cause, not in my case. Woody

pull neg lead THEN turn on lights? with no electrons moving around what would that do? would just pulling the lead for ten minutes do the same?
Pull the ABS sensors on each wheel?

This light is a pest.
Mine has a mind of its own.

It will come on when driving, be off the next time I restart and stay off for weeks.
It will then do the same again for no apparent reason!
