Default Help. I have an exhaust smell and a p2098 code.

I got in my car and noticed an exhaust smell with my windows open then my check engine light came on. Could this be related? The code was a p2098

Attached is an explanation of the code you see. Not sure what the issue would be for that description. Hopefully, others on this forum can help.

But I also attached the description for code P209B. That is an EGR valve issue & could explain the exhaust smell you experienced. Make sure you go back & look carefully at the code to identify the code.
