Default Effects of Replacing RCM

I recently had an episode of "mystery no start" with my Crossfire. It wouldn't turn over, and I sat for about 30 minutes. Then it decided to start. So, consulting the forum, I replaced the RCM with the Standard Motors Product, part number RY-1562 Relay. Since then, the car seems to run much better--mysterious hesitations during driving disappeared and I can break loose the rear tires in second gear during acceleration. Is this my butt dyno misleading me, or is it possible that replacing the relay cured other issues?

The rcm is the blood of the crossfire,,, the ecu is the heart.. restrict blood flow to any part, (ecu,, fuel system, ect.) and it will not run right. as you found out. keep a spare RCM with you all the time. jim

yes ,,i keep two in my car at all times one that was repaired ,yes i tested it and it is good when tested, and a new one because,, unless tighed1 did the repair , then don't trust it. just resoldering and not checking each relay ,it may work, but how long ???? and i think tighed1 did mine just not sure so i carry two of them. jim

It's just a matter of preparedness.
If leaving your local area, it is best to have the spares on hand in case of unexpected failure.
You can't just pull into an AutoZone or other auto parts store and expect to find them.
I don't carry spare parts with my Hyundai Santa Fe when travelling as it's parts ARE readily available.
I'd rather carry my little bag of parts in the box under the trunk than get stranded in the middle of nowhere with no spare parts.
It's a small price to pay for having such an unusual and exotic German sports car.

PS: Having owned an MGA, Triumph Spitfire, Nissan 300ZX and Corvette Stingray Coupe, I prefer my Crossfire Coupe!
Cheers,
