Forum contributor tighed1 believes he has SOLVED THE RCM failure problem, but he needs your help to develop a permanent fix.

I sent tighed1 my old, broken RCM for investigation. He opened it and discovered the problem. He's in the process of repairing it.

If he can get more of them to verify the problem and develop a consistent mod, we can all save hundreds each by repairing rather than replacing the Relay Control Module when (not if) it fails again.

If you have an old, failed RCM, send it to tighed1

 

I ordered a new module today for Crumpy's SRT. I will be sending the old one to Tighed1 this week.

Hey Folks. While poking around the RCM I also noticed what may be causing some of us (myself included) problems with getting the dreaded PO505 fault code. Once I get a look at a few different RCM's I may be able to determine if what I suspect might be the problem, is the problem.
Once I can verify these problems (need more RCM's) I'll do one of my DIY's with extensive pics and write up on how to fix the RCM yerself for both problems.
If this all works out we will save big $$$ and a lot of headaches.
