Default Rear bow latch won't click shut and lock.

Hi All, new to this forum and looking for help. I'm going to tell everything I know/have tried to eliminate some of the obvious possibilities. We have a 2005 convertible. When putting the top up the last step before manually latching the front of the top is that the rear bow has a latching point that closes into a slot on the back deck. It's supposed to click in and lock. Ours pushes and wants to go in but the latch inside, under the deck won't open/disengage to allow it. The latch with is brand new rebuilt I just put in. All other operations of open and close are working. There's power to the latch (3v). once the rear bow is closed as far as it will go(without latching) I can give it a push and it clicks shut/locked. When I want to open it, it opens fine without have to do anything besides push the button.

problem solved. Thanks for all the answers and advice @pizzaguy it was the adjustment that fixed it.

The bow latch will go all the way down until the it meets the tonneau. It tries to keep going to lock into place but the latch will not "unlock".

This is a newly rebuilt assembly I installed after I thought I had narrowed down the problem.#Fail

1) There is not 'power to the latch' - that is a sensor that tells the PTCM when the latch unlocks or locks, the latch is powered and operated hydraulically.
2) I understand there is an adjustment needed to set the 'closing' of the latch, this is detailed in the service manual, perhaps this is the answer, since you say it releases fine.
3) It is POSSIBLE that the central locking pump has a bad output on the lines to that latch, I doubt this, but it IS a possibility.

The 2008 service manual has a more detailed chapter on the convertible top system than the 2005 manual.

Thanks so much. And that makes sense the "switch" is actually a sensor and why it showed 3V. I'll update if I can get it going.

Is there a 2008 service manual on the site by any chance? Saw the 2005 but not a 2008.

The best coverage of the top and supercharger are to be found in the service manual for these that came out in 2005. It is out of print now.

No, again, when it comes to the top system, the 2008 manual is the best we have. Robert McCubbin discovered this sometime in the past year or so - it's been uploaded to most of the Facebook pages.

It is attached.

That is very good, why did nobody put it on here?
I am glad I never converted my book to a pdf when asked.
I have uploaded a lot of manuals to this forum, more than anybody but ripping apart my SC and Roof Manual to convert to a .pdf was not in the books, pun intended.
How much other stuff is buried on FB that the mother ship has never seen? I don't do FaceBook much.
I hear that they copy what we have here, add new stuff which they never share and make out they are the experts.

1) I thought Robert did post it here.
2) VERY little, most of the time, I am posting links to threads or posts here that contain the answers.
3) There is a lot of cross-posting, but frankly, FB is hard to use, you cant find old posts - all you can do it ask the same lame questions over and over. I'm tired of FB.

I never saw it and I read all the new posts, I guess I could have missed it. Anyway I have it saved now.
I am not a FaceBook fan, I basically only reply to friends posts.
I criticized it once on here and got jumped by a CICCI secretary and told to stay away from that FB forum, talk about touchy. I never intended to join it anyway as CICCI had become a clique and I had not renewed after the second year I had joined.

It was no great loss when it folded as it had become a closed shop.
