Future Airbag Issues on the horizon??
~ DETROIT — Stellantis and the U.S. government are warning owners of 276,000 older vehicles to stop driving them after Takata driver air bags apparently exploded in three more vehicles, killing the drivers.
The company, formerly Fiat Chrysler, is telling people to stop driving Dodge Magnum wagons, Dodge Challenger and Charger muscle cars and Chrysler 300 sedans from the 2005 through 2010 model years....TOM KRISHER (AP Auto Writer)
....Did they overlook our Xfires? Do we not have Takata airbags?

08 as well, dealer replacement under recall. Just check to see if dealer still supports Crossfire in case air bag light needs to be cleared which it shouldn't if done right. Mine replaced with no issues.

Iv'e had two takata airbags blow on me, one on my 05 Roadster, one in a rented Dodge pickup. I admit my only injuries were from the airbag (they throw small metal parts at you when they deploy). I think a better alternative would be to disable or deploy the airbag and replace the steering cover. Airbags save lives, but only in something like .002% of crashes. In any event, taking the car to a dealer is a gamble: You may be without the car for weeks, the car could be damaged on their lot (not their problem) or they may tell you "we ran into trouble not covered by the recall, you owe us $800".
TO hell with them. With my Ford Ranger, the dealer came to my home and fixed it in my driveway. (Getting service on a Ranger is easy, millions were sold - getting service at a dealer on a Crossfire is like seeing a street hooker for sex - very risky and potentially expensive.)
