Merry Christmas to Car!
New stuff for my recently acquired 2004.
My bumper cover has a dent and crack, and this piece was cheap enough to pick up instead of working on the damage. Obviously will need paint - this will be my first try at a catalyzed paint. I have the advantage of being able to make mistakes and learn on this piece without taking the car out of service. But I need to wait for warmer weather, or maybe I'll try to set up some IR curing lights.
Also: tail light, speaker trim, license plate frames, and the letter "I."
I realize those LEDs won't work, returned them.
On the way: replacement left side door sill scuff plate.
Oddly, the car has 18" wheels all around, with Pilot Sport all season tires. I don't know if that was on purpose to deal with inclement weather in Brooklyn, or if a rear wheel was ruined when the bumper was damaged. Anyway, the 18s all have some curb rash, so I'm going to use them as winter wheels. I got some Vredestein winter tires for them. (Fortunately, the manual recommends 18s on all four winter tires.)
The wheels in the picture are repros in stock sizes. I'll move the TPMS sensors to them and put the best pair of 225/40/18 Pilot Sports on the front. Will keep the other pair of tires for backup. I got a new pair of 255/35/19 PS for the rear. Can't wait to see the difference!
The interior plastic panels are all showing wear and misalignment. In the spring, they'll come out for repainting.
