Crossfire Ashtray Repair
For those of you who have a broken Ashtray that won’t stay closed here’s a cheap 49¢ fix that makes a permanent repair. Mine recently broke and was planning on installing a replacement, but decided to dive into why they fail. The fix is easy, but getting the ashtray assembly out of the dash is not. Another Crossfire owner, Crossfire Diva, provides a good how to video on how to removing the ashtray assembly. My video is how to permanently fix the ashtray to stay closed.
This is my first how to video, so bare with me.

I'm not clear on what you actually melted with the hot piece of blade. Did you melt the blade right through the plastic and leave it embedded in the plastic? There fore the blade itself is now the catch?
