Default Egg smell: Cat Converter?

I finally opened up the XF and discovered two things...

1. My Governor is broken. lol Got 'er up to 150 mph and ran out of road...

2. At a few points in the running, above 130 mph, I started to get some mild "egg" smell.

I was running the Air Conditioner during all this.

Anything to be concerned about, considering the speed?

Your cats are getting really hot when you smell eggs, this really means that your running a leaner exhaust mixture. It's not hurting the engine since it was designed to operate with a hotter exhaust, which might be due to the twin plugs in the head, and having a phased ignition, that allows fast flame front in the piston and more burning of fuel on the way out the door (valve) Maybe Hddp or AMG lover could elaborate in more depth since they seem to know more than I do.

I'm sure they could... but simple is good... REAL good for me.

Thanks!

Btw, without digging through all the threads (again)... What is an unmodified Coupe's mph topping out at?

the car was advertised from its onset as "150 mph autobahn tested" so i would expect you to be able to get up to 150. top speed is something right around there... 151 or 155, IIRC, and was drag limited not governed.
