Default what are the size specs on the door speakers?

what are sizes of the speakers in the doors on the crossfire srt6 and the convertible (if they're different).

thanks so much! brand new to forums and i look forward to talking here.

also, what are the absolute best sounding and most expensive speakers that can fit in that size (it's prob 6.5 or 6.75 but not sure which)... the most expensive speakers i can find on ebay for that size is $150 for the both.

I have to assume that all of the crossfire doors use the same size speakers which would be a 6.5" component speaker. If you do not have much experience with car audio, this is not something I would suggest doing yourself as there are many little things that need to be taken into consideration while installing the speakers to maximize performance. As for pricing, Sound Advice (company I work for) sells component speakers for up to $5,000 for a pair, but I would not suggest going that high. Get a pair of speakers that closely matches the quality of the rest of the system. You do not want to spend $1,000 on speakers if you are not going to use a high quality amp to power them. Let me know what system you are trying to put together, what you want to emphasize on in the system, and I can help you put one together for your budget, which you need to let me know as well. Also, tell me where you live.

thank you for your reply.

i'm wanting to go with two subs in the trunk in a custom enclosure. two 12"'s. i'd like to then keep factory tweeters in the head rest area but replace the door 6.5's with he highest quality speakers possible. and of course i'll need to buy an amp. i'll pay a maximum of $2,500 for everything.

please base what you'll tell me off of ebay prices and not retail prices as ebay is where i will buy the components.

thanks so much.

Ok, here's my opinion of the crossfire sound system. All you need is a good head unit, subs, components in the doors, and amps. The cabin of the car is so small that rear speakers are not really needed. Audiophile systems are only 2 channel anyway. in an automotive environment, the rear speakers provide rear fill-in and more bass response. I only have component speakers in the doors and the system sounds perfect. I would split up your funds like so: Alpine CDA-9857 deck ($350), Focal 165KF components ($600), two JL12w3v3d4's ($240 ea.), JL 500/1 Sub amp ($550), JL 300/2 - 2 ch. amp ($430). That all totals to $2,320, at full retail, and you have room for installation materials, such as cables. this in my opinion would be the ideal system for your budget. Depending on your bass needs, I would consider using a single 10W7. This will give you less bass then 2 12's, but tighter, deeper, more accurate bass. Also, do you have a coupe or convertible?
