Another twist to this, if you don't have NAV, is to get a Garmin Nuvi that comes with Bluetooth. I think the 600 models have the ability to play the calls through the factory unit without wires. Might want to look into that option.

I recently purchased the Clarion Bluetooth SD card radio from Crutchfield. This has no CD palyer, but the faceplate folds down for an SD card. I bought a 2 Gig card and have 300 songs on it. The Bluetooth works great. It also comes with the external mic. Heres a pic. At $149.99 with free shipping, its a steal.

That's a hot receiver right there... I dig it.

Haha I can see the series of confused questions now:

"What?!?!? It can't play CD's?!?!?"

"HUH?!?!? No cup holder?!?!?!"

Hahaha but with everything else the car offers, it is SO worth it

If you need pictures of anything I'll post them. I ordered my Motorola IHF-1000 on ebay, brand new sealed package for $184 shipped. I think best buy gets around $400 for it. The wiring harness from Becker was around $20.
You can get the IHF-1000 from Amazon for about $149 (it goes on sale every few weeks) and the wire from Becker USA for about $13. The Motorola unit is great and easy to install. I put one in another vehicle.

Slide out the head unit.
Connect the wire set from Becker (plug-in)
Connect mute and speaker wire from Motorola to new wires
find a place to hide the control box for the Motorola (end of dash works)
find a place for the mic and fish the wire to the control box
find a place for the little button pad, fish the wire to the control box
connect Motorola to a power supply (one always hot; one switched) (fish two wires through firewall under where car battery is located with floor on passenger side opened up)
pair the phone
rock

see here (for a different vehicle, lower model blue-tooth but basically the same job and identical wiring chart)

However, the external speaker is not needed because you can run it through the factory Infinity headunit. You will have to purchase the wiring adapter from Becker of North America (the company that makes the Mercedes Benz radios). Once installed, if a call comes in, the radio mutes and it displays "PHONE" on the headunit. The radio voice with say "Call from ______" and you can press the answer or end call button. Once the call is complete, the radio unmutes and the music resumes. It is a very nice system. If you need anymore information on it, let me know. I installed it myself so I know exactly how it works.
I emailed Becker in regards to the harness you stated and they no longer make them. Do you know who else might or where I could possibly get a used one? Thank you …

That is not helpful, you asked for help and now you have information we don't have.

How about posting the part you found and a source, for the next guy who comes along looking for help? It's up to all of us to chip in, even new arrivals such as yourself. You have made only TWO posts and already you have a way to contribute - you are now part of the team.

Thank you … I am waiting for the harness since I ordered it online. To write of the source now is premature. Once I get the part and I know it is the right one then I’ll write of the details. It is easier and more efficient that way.

So I received the wiring harness yesterday. From all the pictures I’ve looked at it appears to be the right one. I purchased it from Discountcarstereo.com under part no. BT-BKR23M. On their website it was wrote that they have a couple left at the time I purchased it. I am currently checking into the installation of it and the Motorola unit I purchased as well in the near future. I want it professionally done if the quote is reasonable.
