I have a bluetooth system installed in my Crossfire. The stock radio comes set up so you can connect a bluetooth system to it. I purchased and installed a Motorola IHF-1000 system with voice-recognition. This system came with: microphone, keypad (answer/end call/volume), control module, external speaker. However, the external speaker is not needed because you can run it through the factory Infinity headunit. You will have to purchase the wiring adapter from Becker of North America (the company that makes the Mercedes Benz radios). Once installed, if a call comes in, the radio mutes and it displays "PHONE" on the headunit. The radio voice with say "Call from ______" and you can press the answer or end call button. Once the call is complete, the radio unmutes and the music resumes. It is a very nice system. If you need anymore information on it, let me know. I installed it myself so I know exactly how it works.

It wasn't exactly difficult to install, just time consuming. However, after doing it once, it would be much easier. If you decide to install it, let me know and I can run through the steps with you. If you need pictures of anything I'll post them. I ordered my Motorola IHF-1000 on ebay, brand new sealed package for $184 shipped. I think best buy gets around $400 for it. The wiring harness from Becker was around $20.

There's another way to do this... I bought a BenQ-Siemens EF-71 phone. It has an FM transmitter that allows you to not only play all of your music to your system but you can have your conversations transmitted to your head unit. Downsides - you need to search for an empty frequency and the transmitter isn't the most powerful I've seen. Upsides - it's a cheap way to accomplish this and it's a really damn cool phone.
I bought mine from Ebay from a guy in Taiwan. Try not to get ripped off - - - make sure it's unlocked (you can use any service as long as it has a sim card).
I paid $260 including shipping and got it in 7 days.

How did you make the connections because it seems the only way to make them is wire lugs to tie wire together and I do not want to do that with the car (tacky). Just FYI I am electronics savvy and have crimpers, pins etc... Just curious how others tied this in. If there are some lessons learned that I could use so I don't repeat mistakes... Thanks!

I then ran them into the fuse panel and got power and ignition from there. I ran the wire up inside the dash so you don't see them. The blue computer board for the kit fit perfectly under the radio when you have it removed. Push it down and then insert the radio back in for a clean look. I mounted the key pad on the left of the steering wheel just above the vent. Let me know if you have questions.

I decided on a JVC KD-AVX33 with built in bluetooth, plus I can install a wide angle black up camera.
I will post pictures when installed. (I am going to paint the unit to match the silver plastic interior). I may just have to clear-coat the whole center console.
Will keep you posted.

BrianBrave, I'll be interested to see that was going to buy a AVX2 a while back but held out for a little longer. Now the AVX33 is out I may have to do it.
I'll wait for the pics.

Thanks. This looks great. I let you know how I make out on Saturday!!
I tried installing this kit today and ran the power ground and ignition into the fuse box. I can not get it to work. I tied into the power side of the fuses. When I hit the "M" button it does not function (light up). I also am not sure which wires to route for the speaker purple and gray or orange and blue. I have the kit from becker and it comes with the RCA jack. I tried using it but its not functioning, mute does not engage. I am not sure if the module is broken or I don't have power (although I check power and get 22 V)?? Any ideas/ advice?
Here's the answer to your Bluetooth Prayers. A friend of mine just put one in his Scion tC, and it is GREAT! It would PERFECTLY compliment the Aluminum Colored dash trim in the Crossfire, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The only downside is no CD. You're forced to use either the SD Card reader, or the Bluetooth iPod adapter. But even with the iPod adapter you're going to spend about $250, that's it. Check it out...
