Stock HU with Aftermarket Amp
I bought the Pioneer GM-5300T (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-VmqOdQb...p?i=130GM5300T) a few days ago from a local retailer and was wondering if it would work with the stock HU and speakers? If I understand correctly the stock speakers are 2 ohms. The Pioneer amp produces 190 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms. How many watts can the stock components accept without blowing? Has anyone experimented with this setup or one similar to it?
Thanks,

I was wondering also how the set-up will be 'cause I wanted to keep my nav/head unit and install aftermarket amps and subs in the trunk.
Any good input is greatly appreciated!

If you are feeding the head unit into the factory amplifier nothing changes ... other than you are sending the factory amp a higher level than original which will mean it will get louder faster and trip the limiters sooner.
If you bypass the amp and use the deck power it will be fine, I run over 100 watts from an off board amp to the factory set with no issues for two years now.

If I was going to bypass the factory amp for just the front L/R which wires would I have to cut and direct to the new amp while still leaving the subs powered by the stock amp?
