Running SAT Antenna
Can anyone suggest the cleanest route for running a portable satellite radio antenna. I have a portable Delphi SKYFi on its way, it will that think antenna wire and the little 1X1 inch antenna. I will be moving this radio from car to car.
Thanks,
Rick

If you look at the instructions for installing the factory satellite navigation radio (http://site.wyckoffchryslerparts.com...s/82208676.pdf), they show the GPS antenna being installed under the dash over the vents. If this works for GPS, might it work for satellite radio, too? It would make for a very clean install.
It should work under the top of the dash. I am looking for a way to install something in my 06 Xfire Limited Roadster to add Sirius or XM. I am presently looking at the Kenwood KOS-A200 system that will allow plug-ins for Sat Radio.
On my F350 with the Pioneer Avic D-3 I had Sound Advice install it and my GPS, Sirius, XM & NavTraffic are all under the top of my dah out of site. The only problem I experience is when one of our Florida Thunderstorms is around I have poor reception on everything. I can live with it because I want it concealed.

Crutchfield has all the tools you need. The head unit removal tool is here. Here's a plastic wedge for prying off the center console trim piece. Here's a more complete set of wedges.
BE SURE TO REMOVE THE SCREWS ILLUSTRATED IN THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE PRYING.

rickyms, I have the exact same radio. You can mount the antenna on the glass of the back hatch midway between the top edge and the rear brake light. There's a metal brace right under the glass that the antenna's magnet can stick to. You can run the antenna wire in through the back hatch and then press it into the seam between the head liner and the side mouldings all the way to the front.

It looks good and works very well.

when i decide to put in the dedicated Sirius box instead of using the Visor i have, i will hack a section of the cable out so i don't have to find something to do with all the extra wire. i have shortened satrad antenna wire (even though the manual says not to do it) and again have NO loss in signal.
