Yeah it can, I did it with a large pair of tweezers. I broke it in half, and just slid it into the slot.

I asked my Chrysler Dealer to borrow their keys to remove mine. You can also ask your local VW dealer. They also sell them on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-...QQcmdZViewItem

You can also order removal keys from Crutchfield: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...0869001&tp=990

I went to several Chrysler dealers and they wanted $50 (NO JOKE!!) to just REMOVE the headunit, this is after they got a screwdriver and tried to take the plastic trim around off !!! I almost cried when I saw what they were doing.

Just buy them off of crutchfield or car-domain (car-domain is cheaper but takes longer to ship)

Try calling a good stereo shop. They'll have them there. I did that with mine. I just bought some connectors and called it even. Took the guy 2 mins.

I work at Best Buy and in my Best Buy we have all the keys for just about every car. Take it there.

Yes I did an experiment on all the tools that looked like they would work and found one that you can buy at walmart
and also use it when you go fishing. It is a fisherman's multi tool it was $6 and here is the pic:

P.S. It took about 10 seconds a side, wiggling it around to get it to release.
