Default Installed capacitors...WOW !

Ok, I'm gonna jump on that " Pelked1" bandwagon !

I installed the 100v 200uf capacitors as recommended in Pelked's "Bang for the Buck thread. What a difference, the midrange is crisp and clean, the subs are kickin some serious butt ! Best 12 bucks I ever spent on a stereo upgrade !

This forum ROCKS !

I didn't do this mod because I actually enjoy the punch of sound that comes from the door speakers. If you like bass I wouldn't do it. I would recommend put dynamat in the doors. There was another user that also felt the same way somewhere in the old thread or in the audio section of the forum.

Daniel is correct ! If you like BASS surround sound, you may not care for this mod. There are, different size capacitors on the market which will not restrict as much of the bass tones. I guess it's a matter of how you like your sound.

Fortunately the caps are cheap and easy to install. Don't like what you hear, simply remove the caps and solder the orginal wiring back together.

I installed the 330uf 100V capacitors. The doors do have less bass but still sound excellent. What I find with this mod is that because the doors have less bass sound it allows you to increase the bass level and get more deep bass pumping out from the rear bulkhead speakers. This actually is a perfect blend on sound and does not compromise the bass overall.

My issue with the stock system is that it starts to distort (due to bass) while there is still lot's of power left. This tells me filtering caps should work very well for the change I want. More bass from the speakers designed to handle it and less distortion from the ones that weren't.

That is exactly what this mod does !! I used 330uf 100v Capacitors.

220uf 100v will remove more bass from the doors.
I never tried them but using the 330uf sounds perfect.
I wouldn't want to remove any more bass from the doors.

When I was driving an 04 coupe I could crank up the volume and the door speakers never sounded distorted, it sounded great. But when I got the SRT6 it sounded like crap cranked up, go figure they were the same systems . I done this mod on the door speakers and it sounded like a totally different system. I don't recall what size cap's I used, but I ordered them from Crutchfields and they were called bass-blockers they had three different size's.

I hated the crossfire stock sound system, I could never make it sound right, I did the cap mod and it was a step in the right direction, but some types of music still sounded funny. I added tweeters just behind the right and left of the seats and connected to the front speaker after the cap and crystal clear sound surrounds you.
