You must have a special edition Crossfire..............the "subs" behind the seat in mine barely emit(sp) anything that even closely resembles bass.
The location you speak of IS where the stock "subs" are located though..........behind the vents.

Not that I know of.........I was just BSing. The factory subs are 6'' I believe. I didn't like mine so I added a 10'' sub and 300watt amp in the back to provide a little more thump.
well im trying to do a stealth job where everything in the car looks stock. so im planning on upgrading the subs and hiding a couple small amps in series to power them. so before i rip the speakers out i want to know the size of them

I'm pretty sure they are just the mid range speakers from any type of component speaker set. It does produce bass but I think it's there to fill the car up with sound rather than not have any, kind of plays tricks on your ear. However, if you do crank it up they will buzz your butt

Mine must be faulty then because my first complaint about the car was the fact that it had NO bass at any level with the factory system. I tore the car apart and saw the the factory "subs" looked to be mid range speakers at best and are mounted at a weird angle(probably for better sound) behind the vents.
i would get it checked out. make sure you have the bass settings on the reciever cranked too.play the song diddy rock by diddy and timbaland and if that doesnt shake the gel in your hair, somthings wrong with your amp.

Yeah; I've tried playing all sorts of BASS filled songs before to no avail. I don't think the dealer would like to troubleshoot my stereo now that I have an aftermarket deck, 10'' sub and 300watt amp. I also still have the same HORRIBLE radio reception on almost all stations that I had with the factory deck. Someday I'll solve that problem as well.
haha good luck with that! i think part of the problem is that the antenna is hidden and does anyone have ANY pictures of what is going on with the wall behind the seats so i have some idea of what it looks like before i rip all the carpeting out and get a surprise the pdf file of how to take everything off is not doing it for me. and ive heard like 10 different answers of what speakers/subs are in the back! and where is this 250 watt amp?? that is a beast for a stock setup
are you serious!?!?!!?! i would NEVER have found that unless i started chasing wires which trying to do with a stock wire setup can be extremely confusing. wow where in the floor? behind the seat or what? thanks for all the help everyone im finally figuring out that this speaker setup is quite interesting

it's under the passenger footwell. roll up the carpet and you will see it... the gas tank is behind the wall, and as such, do not drill into there.. bad bad bad things happen..
haha why i would be going around trying to figure out what is going on with the back wall with a drill is beyond me. but i will keep it in mind if i do get upset and decide to drill random holes into things ill stay away from that part of my car! why is there speakers right above a gas tank. what would a side collision do to that area
I'm looking to change the factory subs on my SRT-6. I have seen that JL and Kicker both make a small 6.5 inch sub. I'm not an audio guru so I would like some help if possible:

3. Any other brands or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
